I noticed during the last month, huge increase in scamming emails. I had also some calls from Ontario/Montreal/ the states that claim I won prizes and lotteries. Some of these emails and calls are giving a phone number to call. I wonder why the legal entities are letting those scammers around. Is there any legal action can take place? Can someone convince me that the government/police/RCMP can't track them if it wants and catches some of them?

Major banks have departments that investigate and take action on scam and phishing emails that use their intellectual property or name in an attempt to defraud customers. I'm not sure about other organizations, but sometimes it just comes down to common sense and users reporting what they see if it truly matters to them or just ignoring it. Companies are never going to be able to prevent these emails from going out. A new scheme pops up every few days from places all over the world.

I got one today from the FBI..lol...the subject line says "FBI OFFICE GET BACK TO US IMMEDIATELY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD IF YOU DON'T WANT US TO ARREST AND JAIL YOU". LOL, I'm so tempted to open it and see what it says, but I'm afraid it'll give me a virus so I'm just going to have to let my curiosity mind stay curious...lol.
Edit: Well I got something out of it, I decided to google the email address it came from, well not google but swagbucks, and even though I got no answers I got 2 SBs for the search...lol. Thanks spammer!:D
