Since Future Shop CSRs are commission-based, what happens when a customer elects to purchase a product via an in-store pick-up? Is it divided amongst the staff or some other arcane method?

TIA.

No Commission, the transaction goes to the store.

Either no commission or the commission goes to the employee who entered in your transaction. It depends completely on the person who entered your transaction. I remember @ FS last boxing day when i bought a monitor (picked it up myself and bought it to the line to pay all by myself), an employee walked by and "helped me" put his employee ID on a piece of sticky and put it on the monitor then the cashier there ignored it and entered his ID instead.:cheesygri I really didn't care who got the commission but i thought it was pretty funny.

Hmmm... this presents a tempting opportunity. When an FS employee offers to help you just say something like, "OK, since you really didn't do anything to earn the commission on this sale, how about I let you put your ID on it and we split the commission, i.e. you give me a [n]% discount?"

CSR's do NOT earn commission, unless you buy the PSP. Its against the company policy to allow employees to ring the transaction under their names for ISPU, unless they are effectively working to assist the customer once he goes to the store, or if the sales rep upsells the client.

I never let these idiots get the commission because no one ever helps me in the store. As a female, I couldn't possibly be interested in buying electronics or computers so I've always had to help myself. I have watched one male customer after another enter the department and immediately be approached for service while I was completely ignored. It wouldn't be until I was walking to cash with my purchase in hand that someone would offer to help me (actually just take the commission, no help). I would refuse. When the cashier would ask me who helped me, I would always reply, "I'm a woman, no one helps me in this store."

ISPU should be like paying at the cashier. In that case I think commission goes to the store.

Often when I line up at the cashier I would be approached by some CSR that wants to ring up the transaction by himself. I first thought they were just being nice (line up was a little long), but then that transaction usually takes longer than the wait as they make you go to another end of the store to ring it up. I actually didn't mind the commission business but I rather not doing all that walking and wait so long. I always refuse now.

Yes, so much better that the commission goes to FS rather than they employees. Way to show them!

Haha, it was boxing day, i doubt anyone was interested in working out a deal... rather rush to the line to try to get commission before another rep gets it. If memory serves i think there were 3 reps just walking around at the line instead of trying to help someone.

It's not a percentage. Some items you get more, some you get less. Commissions also change from time to time.

The Monster cables are such a rip, supposedly the cost for FS on them is like 10% of the actual retail cost.

monoprice is the only place that gets my money for cables.

That's it? I expect more commission on those due to their $100 mark-up ...
