Hey RFD,
This came across at work today and I felt I should share this as there wasn't a lot of advertising for it and I'd rather not have fellow RFD'ers be duped into paying full price at a Best Buy or Future Shop when they quaify for such an amazing savings.
Essentially what it is, if you're a student or have a student e-mail address (recent grads too), you technically qualifiy to purchase:
1. Windows 7 Professional
2. Windows 7 Home Premium (don't buy this if you qualify for the Pro, get the Pro, it has all of the Home Premium features + Windows XP virtualization AND domain join for university/college domains and location anywhere printing)
Visit:
http://www.microsoft.com/canada/windows/discoverytour/student.aspx?wt.mc_id=can_co-win7launch-en_vanity_student OR bit-ly link (http://bit.ly/2MqMJy)
To Purchase (all you need is your working university/college e-mail, mine still works - haven't checked my alumni e-mail yet though):
1.Check your email inbox.
2.Click on the link in the email to access to the store.
3.Purchase your license/product key.
4.IMPORTANT! Hold on to your confirmation email. You will need this if you need to restart the installation process.
5.Checkout and download Windows 7!
ADDITIONALLY: If you want the Full Office Ultimate 2007 (retail over $900 (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10083834&catid=10668)), you can visit this website: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-ca/default.aspx?wt.srch=1 OR bit-ly link (http://bit.ly/TN2wA)
Again, please don't buy that BS that Future Shop and Best Buy sell you saying "Office Home & Student is what to Get" Office Ultimate gives you Outlook, Publisher, Access, and everything that should make your life a whole lot easier.
ENjoy RFD, please rape these deals!!
