Crazy driver tonight

Tonight I was coming home. I was at a red light beside this red Honda civic with a two females in it. Light turned green and we take off I am slightly ahead and then all off a sudden she speeds up beside me and starts coming into my lane without a signal. I had to pretty much slam the breaks on or else she would have clipped the side of my truck! And get this when she got into my lane she put the breaks on!

It was an 80 zone and she slowed down to 60kms! So of course I turn my highbeams on for a few seconds and let the horn go. While passing her she I see her roll down the window and out goes a Mcdonalds cup!!! My girlfriend said my truck got splattered and the driver behind her started to flash their bleams and having to put their wipers on!

Never once have I felt the urge to run someone off the road! The girlfriend wrote the plate down and phoned the police when we got home.

nice story but it doesn't sound so "crazy" as the misleading title describes it. Just a minor case of road rage

I've seen worst... but I also have seen that Karma works; once, I was driving beside a bus which was behind a unmarked RCMP police car on the Lions Gate Bridge. Posted speed limit on Lion's Gate is 60km/h, and I didn't want to give the officer any reason to have me pulled over on the Lion's Gate. Guy behind the bus driving a ricer with a 'N' driver's license ('N' or novice drivers need to display a green 'N' on the back of the car) changes lanes behind me and starts honking his horn.

As we exited the Lion's Gate Bridge, a space opens up where he pulls in front of the officer without a signal, nearly clipping him, then he pulls in front of me without signal, and races off, giving me a finger. The guy in ricer ends up getting pulled over by the RCMP officer in front of the bus... the officer probably threw the book at him, and probably a suspension, as I later recrossed the bridge in the opposite direction a half hour later, as I saw his vehicle getting hitched onto a tow truck with the unmarked RCMP car still there.

We have a graduated licensing program here in BC; the first stage, you receive a 'L' or Learner's License, which you get for a year, and you need a supervisor to be with you in the car at all times, plus various other restrictions. After a year, they take a road test, and if they pass, they get a 'N' or Novice stage, which removes a number of restrictions (no need for supervisor, etc). But if you rack up enough demerit points, you get a license prohibition, and you need to restart your stage all over again, and in this case for a 'N' driver, it's two years. After your two years without prohibition, you take another road test, and if you pass, you get your full driver's license.

But did it feel good to see that guy get pulled over and get his license suspended plus his car towed? Boo yeah, made my day! I was laughing when I got home.

that's really bizarre, are you sure you didn't unintentionally cut them off or something?

what is crazy about this type of a story is that I know quite a few hot tempered people in toronto where if this had happened to them (so if they were in YOUR shoes,) they would without even THINKING ABOUT THE IMPLICATIONS, crash their car into the offender....you'll see, they'll mess with the wrong driver one day.

(you'd be amazed at how stressed out a lot of people are these days, I'm on the road enough to see some interesting incidents on a day to day basis.)

It can be pretty dangerous out there these days.

Thats why Im always leaning to a larger and more sturdy car, you need something substantial in case idiots like this slam into you or hit you at a light or something.

For this reason Id be nervous to drive around in a little Accent or little car like that :(

My favourite type of crazy driver are the ones that believe their econobox is a Ferrari. Then they start doing stupid things on the road and try to race you.
I get these idiots wanting to race at stop lights. Mostly Civics sedans and base model Lancers.
Likewise, the ones that try to pass you from the right turn lane at a red light with a lawnmower engine. Then they get angry if you don't let them "win."

Seriously, it sounds almost as if this was some chick that you were uh "seeing on the side" and then she saw you with your gf and went nuts, LOL :lol: Definitely a wacko. But you know Civic drivers... Both male and female alike, they always try to "race" you for some reason. Even if they are in their 120hp Civic, trying to "beat" you in a car with like a 100hp advantage on them, and one that actually has some low end at that :confused:

OP: you expect ppl to see you too esp. if you're a big car....them = driving fail.


Though my problem is big cars not seeing me...I think most have their mirrors not pointing down at a lower angle or most don't check their blindspot carefully enough. Sucks to be driving a lowered car with so many SUVs and minivans around. My friends keep telling me to just get a big car and not be afraid no more haha.

they do pull over cars on the road. i have friends who do it in extreme cases and call up 911 to report dangerous driving and so forth, and later on we see the same car pulled over.

better safe than sorry and a phone call dont cost you a thing.

Obviously they wont do anything but there will be a record of complaint on that plate. Not looking good for the owner if they ever got pulled over.

I doubt tickets will be issued. it's words against each other. No proof or anything like that. No big deal it's just a warning.
