Hi,
I've just ordered some rams from them. Usually, I always read the review first from an online retailer before ordering from them but this time I did it after and noticed a lot of people had issues with them about the return policy plus I read they don't always give you a tracking number unless you call them? Has anyone had such experiences with them?
Thanks.

I've never ordered anything from them online. They only provide you a full refund if they test and find that the product is defective otherwise they charge a ridiculous restocking fee of 15%.

Why is their restocking fee ridiculous? They're not Walmart. They're working on razor thin margins. It costs them money to have you change your mind and bring it back. They can't resell it as new either. Why should they absorb the costs because you can't make up your mind? Their suppliers charge them 30%.
Many computer shops won't do refunds at all, exchange or credit only. If you're not sure you need it, don't buy it and save them the expense.

Because I can always head over to FS or BB for there more flexible return policies. For smaller value items I don't care about the 15% restocking fee. For higher value items I would rather have flexible return policies then a discount.

So as I can read only their return policies isn't flexible? I've noticed that they don't have a live chat as Newegg as well which will be harder for the communication.

they have Corsair P256 on sale until Nov 5 for $709.99 while Newegg is priced at $725. http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=024453&cid=HDD.859

I was mostly concerned with people feedback about them, I did notice their sales but unlike Newegg who has a livechat which is very easy to communicate with when you have an issue, plus their items always come the next day I order it. My concerns were about their shipping process and policy, I'll see how it goes this week.

What a lot of people don't understand is that there's different kinds of computer shops out there.
You cannot expect to pay rock bottom prices and then still get the cushy benefits that more expensive places give you with flexible return policies, no restocking fee, no extra charge for credit card, helpful salespeople fluent in English who help you decide what you want, etc. It is a scale.
Canada Computers is on the other end. This means that if you actually know what you want and are ready to just go in and pay for it and then use it without bothering them ever again, then they are your shop. The benefit is better pricing.
Some people don't understand this and then they get all offended when CC doesn't offer the same service level as Costco or Future Shop. If those people want that then they should go and pay higher prices. And this is why CC gets bad reviews on reseller ratings.
Because service is not a priority, I use my common sense and do not buy from them online because it's very difficult to resolve any problem. I go into the store and inspect the item and only then hand them my money. I have never had a problem with Canada Computers.

Well said. I always just walk in, order whatever I'm looking for (after checking out their website and reading the reviews online) and get out.

Interesting...I get your point. Although, it's very hard for me to go buy in their store that's because I live in Quebec. Talking about services, I find Newegg has impressive one plus their prices aren't bad neither. Though, I'm not the one that's gonna come whining if the item is defective but at least saying about they don't really care about their customers make me change my mind for a future purchase. This said, it does give me an idea about them now.
Thanks

Can you people who keeps saying reps at Canada Computers can't speak English - go to the Mississauga location. All the reps are all Caucasian, there is not one Asian rep there at all. Only the store Manager, Kelvin is and he's Korean.

People get offended because this Chinese attitude is in Canada.
In Canada we expect to see service, politeness etc etc...
Don't expect everybody like you who can forgo service for price of price.
This is not Singapore/HK or China. This is Canada and we expect something from CC.
My Last purchase from CC was about 10-11 year before...I dont remember exact...I couldn't install Windows Server (Was it 4.0?) that time. It took me almost 4 days to get HDD replaced.
CC is axhole that time and still it is today.
Dont ask people to change...ask CC to change their ways.

Exactly, I guess the kind of reps they have is all base on location, location, location.
I bet their Kingston location is all non-Asian except for management.

I don't mind that this "Chinese attitude" is in Canada. The fact is that I can choose to shop at CC or ignore them. It gives me more options and personal choice.
If people don't like the "Chinese attitude" then people won't shop there and CC will go out of business and natural selection will shape the course of the marketplace.
Considering how busy my local CC tends to be, I think that not everyone is offended by "Chinese attitude".

Are you sure? I haven't been there in awhile so maybe things have changed but I am sure they have had many asian reps there.
Last winter I took a friend there to buy some cheap HDMI cables and I couldn't find the ones which were supposed to be "stock 10+". So this nice caucasian guy tries to help me track it down. Either he was very new there and working hard to impress us/his boss or he was just sincerely eager to help. In the end he couldn't find them. So my friend and I are looking at the more expensive cables which are in stock and I suddenly realize there are different versions of HDMI. So I ask the same guy what version is required for 1080p. He doesn't know so he and another rep starts checking on wikipedia to make sure the cables I am about to buy can handle 1080p. He mentions at this time that CC has a no return policy on any kind of cable. So I'm pissed off about this policy but I'm really impressed with the guy for pointing it out and making every effort to make sure the cables will suit my friends needs. Then this asian rep comes over and starts nagging at the guy for spending too much time trying to help me on such a low priced item. It was like "come on you still spending time on this?!" He felt threatened and stopped helping us. My friend and I were in total shock.
I don't care if they have razor thin margins, if their website says 10+ in stock I expect them to have some when I am there. Especially because I don't live nearby. And this sort of thing has happened more than once. Another time I went there to pick up some 6p-6p firewire cables but again only the more expensive ones were actually there in stock. The website indicated they had 10+ of the cheaper variety but they were nowhere to be found. A sales rep could not find them either, again. And they don't seem to care about it. I complained but they never fixed it. Days, weeks later it still showed up on their website as in stock and the store didn't have any.
Speaking of returning things, I understand it sucks for them when customers return things but that's just part of business. Nobody forces them to have a return policy. I returned an unopened set of dual channel ram once and the guy spent a lot of time checking if it had been opened. He put lot of force into trying to see if the plastic packaging was glued/would pop open. I was both annoyed and laughing inside, annoyed because it made me feel like I was trying to scam them and laughing because he was wrinkling/creasing the package. I doubt anyone would want to buy them after he had handled them. When I say lot of force I'm not exaggerating.
Oh and what's with their policy on returning cables. Did you know they won't accept any returns on cables, even if they are in a blister pack and it hasn't been opened? DOA? Too bad. I don't know if that's true but that's what two different people told me. They said there's no way of knowing/testing if they are damaged to begin with or if a customer damaged them. Isn't that the case with anything they sell? Do they have some forensic investigator who can tell if a DOA motherboard is in fact DOA or damaged by me? Please... Either way, I can't understand the problem when it's still sealed. Just a pointless stupid policy. If they can't back their products, don't offer to sell them.

And Yes I DO mind that CC Chinese attitude.
And Yes I don't get such service (Bad) at TD Canada trust where lots Chinese work. They are professional at TD branches.

Well then you should go and convince people to not shop at CC because of their business methods.
By all means, go ahead, I won't stop you. This is a free market (unless you are in the telecom industry...)
As for TD, they recently had to shell out over $1000 for lawyers to fix the problems they created in my Condo's title.

Last couple of times I've been there, I've seen just brown and white guys helping customers. That's quite different from the early days of that location.

Has anyone been at the Scarborough location? (Kenedy location)
They're one of the worst CC location i have been. I phoned in to ask if the item was in stock, the bietch answered the phone and quickly said yes. I drove there to know they didnt have any. WTF? This has happened to me twice. I said loud and clear to whoever at the cashier that i would never come back there.
Gosh, CC really need to keep the service more consistent among the location.
So far i find the 'sauga location is more or less acceptable.
