I would say go for it. Logitech is a leader brand. Their refurbished items are usually in excellent condition, plus you get the original manufacturers warranty...and if you don't like the item you get get a refund withing a certain period of days. Can't recall...it could be 15 or 30 days but better call them directly just to be sure.
Also, you can get extended warranty from them for 7% extra of the price of the item you purchased. :)

You are welcome. :)
Not sure about the headphones as i have not purchased them myself, but i think that these are RF and not IR...so that's good. You can buy, test them and if you don't like them just return for a refund.

I thought that the pair of Cobra FRS/GMRS radio's for $9.99 was a good deal, when I saw the newspaper ad the other day. Especially for casual use, or for a multi car roadtrip.

Thanks OP.
But even a newbie should know that FD does not give refunds. Store credit for defective products only.
Cheers.

Factory Direct - Logitech Pure-Fi Express Ipod Docking Spkrs $29.99 WITH COUPON (http://www.factorydirect.ca/catalog/combo_spec.php?pcode=FC6412&id=357), Refurb, until Nov 4
with Clock and Alarm, and remote, but no AM/FM
Probably not a super great Ipod docking system but you can't beat the price if you only need it to fill a bedroom or small office. I don't need it to behave like a $1,000 stereo system! ;)

What do you guys and gals think of the ottoman deals at the bottom of the flyer? Ottomans are pretty much all alike in terms of build/quality (as long as it's wood), no? Been looking for one, possibly two to complement a rather tight space for sitting mostly. e.g. when gaming, etc.

I wouldn't say that's the case. FactoryDirect on College has been around over a decade but other locations are independently managed. Almost all electronic products are purchased at auction (Plastic Wrapped Skids, products untested). Several RFDers worked for FD and can confirm it's not a good company.
If you're a hobbyist and know what you want and can figure out drivers & workarounds then it's a fun place. For new customers who walk in and assume it's a reputable shop with easy refund/exchange then you're in for a rude awakening. The shops outside the immediate Toronto locations offer sub-par service.
If your item is $5 to $30? Sure, have fun & enjoy. $599 LCD or $299 refurb computers? If something goes wrong you're in for a huge headache.

Man, the "wireless" headphones are terrible. It's wired only for PC use and a hassle to get it to work on the TV.
Don't bother with it people.

With all the garabage I have had to go through with FD, I will never buy their referb piles of junk again. All they do is buy the referb product from the manufacturer or their suplier, blow off the dust and put it in a beat up box without even testing the product.:mad::mad:

Bought a phone from the College location and it was DOA. Didn't bother to return it as it was only 7 bucks. I had better luck at Active Surplus.

Is that Volfe 4-Bay HDTV Antenna any good for $20? Been thinking of picking one up to give it a shot. I've had an HDTV for over 3 years with an ATSC tuner, but have never watched an HD channel. :)

you have to look at the build quilty, i'm going to go check out the 8 bay tomorrow.
Some of the HD attena's look like they are made of like cheap coat hangers while others look like they are built alot better with thicker metal. (i'm no way an expert but i'm just comparing what i see with my Channel Master)

I can help you people save yourself some frustration and heartache. Instead of buying something from FD, just send me the money instead. You'll feel better, I'll feel better and the net result will be the same. Either way, you won't have a work product, but at least one of us will benefit.

yeah... the problem with FD is that the buyer doesn't get a warranty from the manufacturer, so if you buy a garmin gps from FD its not covered by garmins warranty, its covered under FD's warranty.....
atleast products from tiger direct have manufacturer's warranties...

and any Blackberry without the trackball or any tracking device now looks too old lol
that refurbed Curve is still quite the gyp too, considering when you renew contracts you can get a brand new super kick-ass phone for a lot less.

Wow. That was...a huge waste of three years of free HDTV. Pick up the antenna and give it a shot.
NFL on CTV-HD and CITY-HD this season has looked nothing short of spectacular on my TV!!! The afternoon game on CTV and the late afternoon game on CITYHD...damn....I loves it.
CTV is now doing their News broadcast fully in HD now, and it looks amazing too. Now if only Global would do theirs in full HD too...Carolyn MacKenzie...omg....

I've had decent results from Factory direct actually.
First I bought a 7290 and it worked great until I broke it.
Then I bought the Altec Lansing wireless headphones and they worked great.
Then I bought a portable DVD player and that sucked - really noisy and didn't play my dvd+Rs. I exchanged it twice and finally I just got a gift card.
My dad wanted to buy something but didn't have coupon so we just talked to the manager and they gave us the coupon price anyway.
So overall, a decent experience actually.
I do know however that you really have to know what you are getting into when you buy from them so I always use what I buy right away.

Build your own. 1000 feet for $54.99.
http://www.factorydirect.ca/catalog/category_list.php?cat=C110:C120:C130
If you get your connectors cheap (50 for $1 on eBay), you can build a 50 foot cables for under $3 each.
I suppose you might need to buy the tool. Can be had with 100 connectors and tester tool for $4 on eBay.
Yes, I'm that cheap. And I also like to use solid wire, since that's what the CAT-5 spec originally required.

Anyways, i approach FD with care. I would and have bought certain items there, nothing that has moving/electronic parts pretty much! hahaha
I have bought batteries and a microSD card, i have heard countless horror stories with products coming from there, and a few good ones. So it is hard to pin point as to what is a 'good deal' nowadays. I normally do not mind refurb products, but this place is an exception to my rule oftentimes than not...
YES lol

Meh. You can find the curve left right and center at the 100$ mark in any local classifieds... So not worth wasting the money on it, IMO. This is coming from a phone *****, i have had 15 [if not more] different phones in the last year! And i buy/sell in the spare time for cash...
