I walked into a Rogers store to look at some HD boxes...the place was FLOODED with new RIM products...Bold 9700, Curve 8520...and that's just Rogers.

Telus and Bell, Storm2, Tour2 (I saw a flyer on the counter)....looking at around four new phones, five if you add the white 9000!

Apple needs to get with the program and offer a EVDO/CDMA version of their product.

But over how much of the Bell/Telus system will such a product work?

Just in major centres? Everywhere?

Apple updates the iPhone in June/July of every year. They'll do fine with the current iPhone for the holidays.

Why? CDMA makes up a fraction of the world's mobile phone users and is a deadend technology. The only CDMA carrier Apple would care about is Verizon, and I doubt they will ever get the iPhone after they have spent so much time making fun of Apple and bashing the iPhone.

Everywhere there is EVDO coverage, there will be HSPA coverage. It's a complete network overlay.
