I got my eyes checked early this year (February 2009) and I bought frames.

The prescription paper says: it is valid for a 6 month period. If I bring this prescription paper to Optical Hakim, could they still help me to create the glasses? Or would I have to go back to my eye doctor to get a new slip? I don't want to get my eyes checked for another $95. My vision is still clear and crisp.

Advice?

I'm sure they will tell you they recommend you get another exam, but just tell them you are fine with it.

Check out the forums about ordering glasses online for way cheaper than buying in store. Use sites like costal contacts, goggles4u, zenni optical etc.

I just get my new glasses today as Nov 1st and my prescription is last April......a bit longer than 6 months....

If Hakim refuse to sell you a eyeglasses base on that, go to another one instead.

if im not mistaken i think hakim reimburses you for the eye check up if you buy glasses from them. you can ask them because im not 100% sure

Why would it be 6 months??? What is your prescription like, aren't most eye exams/prescriptions valid for 2 years? I know mine have always been, as well as people in my family.

You are correct, its 2 years. I asked this question when I got my check up couple of months ago. 6 months is way too short to get another check up.
