I doubt anyone wiill receive anything. These guys copied legit http://www.raleighastro.org/ website one to one, except "keychain freebie" which was added to the webpage and they made minor changes in the main page.
Now they are collecting personal info...

Mods... Please do not remove this... Hopefully it will help others to spot similar scams. I already saw similar ones and that's why I decided to check...

and found out???

I thought it was pretty transparent.... Anyway - just compare two websites.

"Contact us"
Legitimate site provides local contacts for Astronomical society,

Fake site - some PO box.

"What's new"
Real site says " Bringing Amateur Astronomy to the Raleigh area since 1978 " in the banner. Please note - they met in "North Cary Park" , and club member names are mentioned

Fake site says " Bringing Amateur Astronomy" only (skipping Raleigh area - as anywhere else on the website).
However meeting location and club member names are all the same.

Also, they simply replaced RAC with SEAC all over the websiite.

But the best one is :

Original website : The Raleigh Astronomy Club (RAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting amateur astronomy in the Raleigh, NC area.

Fake Website : The Sun Explosion Astronomy Club (SEAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting amateur astronomy in the Sun Explosion, NC area

Well, you can find Raleigh in NC, but you will have hard time finding "Sun Explosion" :)

This is probably one of the best fake websites I have seen so far, and they keep updating it with the latest info from original site.

Perhaps OP can kindly mention the fact in his first post...

Prediction: no one will read your post, or even if they do, they will keep giving personal info (fake and real) to the phishers who published the fake website. Such is the way of the web...

Seems like our phisher isn't so wise. I can probably collect more info on him, even if the information here is also fake.

Does anyone care to help me in teaching this guy a lesson?

and OP, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, edit your post saying this is a scam before more people give info.

We should probably send multiple reports of fraud and perhaps try to get some info from GoDaddy regarding this guy.

I think OP is in it as well, can any admins provide his IP so we can get an idea of where he's coming from?

We shouldn't let this guy get away. We should teach him a lesson for messing with RFDers. Morons like him really make me angry.

I don't think OP is part of it, it looks like he posted many legitimate deals before this post.

But I agree that we should use all possible means to teach these people a lesson. If you google "free telescope keychain" (http://www.google.ca/search?q=free+telescope+keychain&rls=com.microsoft:en-ca&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1&rlz=1I7GFRE_en) you will see that this offer is all over the internet copied to many forums all over the world.

By the way - it looks like keychain picture was taken from this e-store (http://www.usimprints.com/store/custom-telescopes-promotional-toys/product/telescope-keychain/)

Judging from the prevelance of this and OP's previous posts, you're right, OP doesn't look like a part of it.

Let's work together and see what we can dig up about the fake site.
