Our old hot pot cooker died and I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a new one. And what's the consensus on a hot pot cooker versus a regular pot on an electric hot plate?

We always use a butane portable cook top and a pot.

Go buy the portable induction cooker at Costco for $87. It'll boil the liquid much much faster than the butane portables. [search induction cooker in deals forum].
Try it and if you don't agree, you can return it to Costco with no questions asked.

I unfortunately don't have a Costco membership, but I'll take a look at induction cookers elsewhere. Thanks. :)
