My baby's due date is tomorrow (October 31th) and our condo is undergoing refurbishment.
I just received a notice that they will be applying oil primer on our floor starting Nov 2-3. According to this notice, the initial odour will evaporate between 4-6 hours but the residual odour will stay around throughout the day.
I'm not sure how this will affect the baby if it's delivered around that time. I've called my midwife but she told me to call Mother Risk @ Hospital for Sick Children. I've called Mother Risk and they told me that they don't deal with the newborns. However, as far as the pregnancy is concerned, the oil primer will not affect the baby inside the uterus since it will only be short period of time.
Now how I do find out how this will affect the baby after it's born? Our building has a lot of elderly residents and I know that some of them have moved out for the duration. Should I consider that option? I need to figure out quickly since I have to move baby stuff to my parents house if I learn that the oil primer odour will affect the baby.
So help!
