NEED HELP: Windows Media Center + Xbox 360

Hey guys,

Need some help.

My current setup:

1. My xbox 360 is connected to my wireless router using an ethernet cable
2. My laptop is connected to the same wireless router, wirelessly
3. My laptop is running Vista Ultimate with Windows Media Center 6

Since my laptop is connected wirelessly, and the xbox is connected directly with a cable, I guess they are on two different networks.

Xbox 360 doesn't detect my Laptop and my Laptop does not detect the Xbox 360 on the network and my Media Center cannot add the Xbox as an extender because it cannot detect it.

How do i configure all this so that I can get windows media center up and running with xbox 360 without changing the current layout?

I don't want to buy a wireless adapter for the xbox 360 and I do not want to switch the laptop from wireless to LAN connection.

What can I do?

the only way i ever got it to work was by having both my laptop/desktop and xbox connectd to my router

i use windows media player 11 to connect the 360 (connected via ethernet) to my laptop (connected wirelessly) and desktop (connected via ethernet).

go to wmp 11 --> library --> media sharing --> xbox 360 (allow)

on vista, you might have to go into my network connections and set some privacy options to 'private network' or something :S

i use zune for music and vuze for videos so can't say how WMC would work specifically, but having either the PCor 360 connected to the router wirelessly shouldn't be a problem, i do it all the time.
