I thought flights available from Aeroplan, should also be available thru a Star Alliance partner's program. When I called Aeroplan directly, they seats are available and they thought it should be available thru US Air too. But when going thru US Air Dividend Miles program (where I have a 75,000 points), they don't see those seats available.

Called back to Aeroplan again. They are still available.

Try calling US again. As far as I know, US doesn't do Starnet filtering like UA does.

BTW, who would want to collect US miles? US is such a pathetic airlines. I for one won't fly them. Even if I had to, I wouldn't put my miles in their program.

A few months ago there was a special promotion from Starwood whereby you get 50% more points if you transfer to US Air's Dividend miles.

So I transferred 40,000 points out of Starwood, to get 50,000 points to US Air, and get the 50% to end up with 75,000. Now trying to use part of that 75,000 for 2 tickets. Found out they charge $25 processing fee/p.

I called US again and they told me they don't see flight AC790 that I wanted to book on. They see flight AC792?!

Later I went on the flytalk forum, where someone said AC just changed their award flight from W to X class. That may be part of the reason. But still doesn't explain why US sees flight AC792 but not AC790.

I also saw in flyertalk that the best Star Alliance award seeking is ANA. So I signed up with ANA and used their award seeker. Also found it showing flight AC792 for the flight times of AC790.

Yesterday during the day, on Aeroplan, I was able to go thru Aeroplan's website and pretend to book the flight and got to the 3rd of entering the credit card info, to complete the booking. That's where I stopped. It is supposed to hold the seat for 15min while one tries to complete the booking. So 15min later, when searching again, was able to see the seats free on AC790. Called US Air several times, they still don't see it.

Unfortunately, today those AC790 seats are no longer available for classic award. Only availabe for higher points.
