If this is in the wrong section please move.
I'm wondering what kind of deals other people are getting as I'm kind of sick of Shaw and their crappy customer service.
I currently pay ~$105 for internet and 57 non-digital channels and have been doing that for many years.
I called to get a better deal but the CSR was very unhelpful. I'm wondering what kind of other deals people have. I want to save money or pay the same and get more channels.
I have phone (land line) with Telus so I was thinking of maybe canceling the internet from Shaw and just get phone+internet bundle from Telus (no TV available where I live) and just get TV only from Shaw? Any input is appreciated.

Seems like you are current customers of both Shaw and Telus.
In order to get a good deal, you must be a new customer from one of the companies. I remember Telus had a deal with Telus home phone + Telus satellite TV and high speed internet for a really good price.
What I would suggest is to either move your Telus phone to shaw, or consider signing up for Telus Satellite TV and High Speed internet bundled with your Telus Home Phone.
edit: If I am not mistaken, I remember seeing a mailer from Telus. Get internet + phone + tv for $49.95 a month for the first 12 months?
I am not sure, I threw it out ages ago. Try searching for it on the forum... I think it may have been discussed before.

i pay 100.22 after taxes for land line, internet and tv with telus. not sure how many channels there are total but i have 10 theme packs. you can take a look at telus's site to see the theme packs and channel selections.
i also have a free pvr rental for signing a 2 year contract.

I'm paying $60.95 + taxes per month for regular digital TV; that's after two price increases this year (May & Sept). All the digital channels above 57 are there (and you're paying for them), you just need a digital box to access them. I believe you should be able to get a regular digital box (w/o PVR) for about $100; check BB or FS.
As for high speed internet service, I just received a promo mailer from Shaw offering service at $14.95/month for the first three months and then $35/month thereafter. So, that would be $95.95 + taxes for TV/internet after the first three months - sounds about what you're paying now.
If you don't really need the Telus landline, look at dumping that altogether to save some money. Between my wife and I, two cells are plenty. Even if we go over our cell plan minutes, it's still cheaper than two cells and one landline.
If you need/want a landline, look at amalgamating your services with one company whether it's Shaw or Telus (you're screwed either way). If you can get Telus ADSL, you should be able to get IPTV. Otherwise, they offer satellite TV; just compare bundle pricing between the two and go from there. Keep in mind too, you will have to lay out some cash for hardware upgrades in order to get better value, no matter which company you choose.

thanks for the responses. I may call Telus to see if they'll match $21 for phone that rogers is offering apparently because I'm paying ~29$ for the land line with no features at the moment or see if I can get a better internet/phone bundle maybe.
Apparently telus has like 10-15 min waits when you call them as well which is annoying while I'm at work.
