Just received an email from TRU. On Oct 31 & Nov 1, the first 100 families will receive GC, ranging from $5 - $50, per store per day.

I think that is just so Mom, Dad and each of the kids don't try to get one each.

plus, I think I saw something about bringing the kids on halloween in costume to get a free gift - heard it was a trick or treat bag? and parade through the store with their mascot - Giraffe

I've recently purchased Monopoly City from Walmart and havn't opened it yet

I just got back from the Thornhill ToysRUs. The good news is there wasn't many people there (around 20-30 when the store opened 10 minutes early). The bad news is I got a $5 gift card, so today wasn't my lucky day>:(

Oh well. Worth a try, but I think I'll be sleeping-in tomorrow.

In Whitby 50 to 75 ppl were in line 30 mins before it open. I was 8th. Mine was 5.00. Better than nothing.

Markville location had around 80-90 people in line in total.. I got there around 9:00 and I was probably near 70th. Saw alot of families cheating (as expected) though. Even the family infront of me took 2 and tried to get 3.. but a mother and son was too obvious although the dad got off by himself.

And I too got a $5 (surprise), but there was lots of work price matching Walmart for my Monopoly City and the employee forgetting to give my credit card back (I forgot too and had to go back afterwards).

Now to actually find someone willing to sit down and play a board game with me..:lol:

Arrived this morning to Van store at 9:45 with only 20 people ahead of me. The line up suddenly grew afterwards. $10 card verified by calling the toll free number on the back.

Today. went to surrey one in BC with friend. got $10 each. - opened at 10am.

Immediately went to metrotown burnaby one. got $10 each - opened at 11am

About 30 ppl at surrey, and 100 maxed out at burnaby by 11am.

Supposed to be 1 per family. Some families: a mother told her daughter to step ahead as if they do not know each other and the father would be like 10 spots behind. They probably got $30

Combined GCs my friend and I got combined in two days is $50. If only he went yesterday too!

I ended up buying Astro Boy's 80s DVD collection for $23.99 CDN (free with the gift cards). Just figured out it's a killer deal as Future Shop sells it for $39.99 and Best Buy sells it for $37.99.

What to do with the remaining $20 :)

It makes me sad to hear that there is minimal line up and everyone is getting double what we're getting near Toronto..lol.. we're so cheap =/
