I have seen it priced at $39.99 everywhere so this isn't exactly a HOT deal. But it is a great price for 2 great games remastered in Hi-Def with the inclusion of trophies. That means 2 Platinum's for the price of a new Wii game. I'm sold! Best PS2 games together in HD!

I have yet to finish GOW II. I was about to finish it and my PS3 bricked. I already own both for the PS2 but, I'll def be picking them up again for the PS3.

The fact is it's normal retail price dude. The Batman/Borderlands deals where close to half price of retail, and why would only a tiny fraction of the market get to take place in them? There were copies of them readily available across multiple stores.

No, it isn't a hot deal. A hot deal is something that likely has limited availability. This game will be this price from day 1 in every store until the end of time. So basically this thread is a "GOW compilation game is coming out".

If it was $30 or $35 somewhere then that is allowed. Thanks for keeping me up on releases. Just in case you didn't know COD:MW2 will be out on NOV 10 for an MSRP of $69.99.

it's only 2 remastered ps2 games. it's not like it's a completely brand new game. $40, that's the price of those 2 games on the ps2. it has trophies but really..

These are 2 awesome games. That having been said, they're old, last gen and this should be a budget price, $29.99 max.

They're old games, not made for the PS3. Awesome games nonetheless, but let's not forget what they really are and what this amounts to is a Sony cash grab.

I can't believe they want $40 for basically a visual upgrade. I hope they drop the price before release to $30, which is more reasonable. SSFIIHD was only $15 on the PS3 network, and that game had more than a visual overhaul. They balanced characters in it and added online matchmaking capabilities for the $15.

Great games but this is not a hot deal, there is already a thread in the video games forum about this. Doesn't really matter if you think it is a great value, it's like me saying the PS3 at $299.99 is a hot deal because I think it's a great value.

This thread should be removed for three reasons that I can think of.
1) It has already been posted in the past.
2) It's old news in general.
3) 39.99 is the regular price. If somebody finds it for 29.99, or even 34.99, it should go in Hot Deals. The purpose of hot deals is to save people money by pointing out prices that are lower than normal. Given that nobody is selling this for more than 39.99, a listing at that price can't be in hot deals.

As someone who has not played GoW 1/2 this is worth it. Sure this could be moved to the video games thread. Most of the flamers on this forum obviously can't read or choose to be ignorant to that fact, just so they can add +1 to their measly post counts. Good job guys. Keep in mind that SSFII is essentially an old arcade/SNES game though. GoWI and II are two of the best games for PS2 which is just one 'generation' ago.

ssf2hd remix actually took alot more time.. anyone who was following knew it was delayed a couple of times due to artwork being redrawn by hand, and the gppo network stress tests.

that's like comparing sf4 to KOF. both are beautiful.

buying these games brand new for ps2 is $20 each.. so for the same price..u get them on the ps3... updated graphics...trophy support and a demo for GoW 3... seems decent to me

Stop getting so emotional because some people don't like your thread. Even if you were going to post this in the Games section you would still fail since it has already been posted. This is the Hot Deals forum not the Good Value forum. You pointed out that it was not a hot deal but a good value, your post sounded like something you wanted to post in this forum and not in the video games section like you claim.

I loved the games as much as anyone but $39.99 is a bit steep for pretty much a reissue. If they had overhauled the graphics or added some new levels instead of just upgrading to 1080p or whatever then I can see it being priced higher. Trophies are nice, and while I would certainly play through the games again, its hard to justify the price tag. They should have tried to tie this in to preorders of GOW3, either giving it away or discounted with preorder, and full price for everyone else.

I'm puzzled that it's still listed in hot deals. When the PS3 dropped to $299, the mods were quick to move it, stating that it's regular price. IMHO, that WAS a deal, since the price had just changed.

When something has never been more than $39.99, finding it for $39.99 isn't a deal.
