I am just curious on a few different things.

1) Why are there so many moderators I belong to several boards and noticed this one has alot?

2) Are certain moderators in charge of only moderating certain forums or do they all moderate them all?

3) How does one get selected to be a moderator?

4) Is there a level of senority re moderators?

I don't think there are that many considering there are about 40,000 posts every week. Moderators mod all the forums, but different mods have different interests, so they keep a closer eye on those sections typically.

We choose people who we think will make good mods. There's no set process.

The only seniority is that I'm the only one responsible for overturning infractions or making the final call on a grey or controversial issue.

So your are kind of like the King, and the mods are the knights, typical user are the peons, and the trolls are the court jesters.

Legend tells of the coming of "the chosen one" who will overthrow the evil monarchy and restore order to the kingdom.
