Situation: Customer since 2003 with Telus.
Plan: We always get a 2 year contract.
Currently: Our contract expired in July 2009, but we didn't switch over or technically resign a term, since we knew the Iphone was coming to Telus so we wanted to wait. So currently we have the exact same plan, just it's technically month to month until we resign.
Now: Telus Iphone is out November 5th. As a long term customer, with an expired contract willing to sign up for 3 years with Telus, will I get the 199.99 8gb with a reallly good retention deal??

i don't know what you wanted to hear my friend, but all the discounts are individual, account based.
you can't just predict how much you will pay. you'd have to talk to retentions first.
and on november 5th too...not now

I was more worried about the 199 price for the iphone for a 3 year contract. As long as I qualify. I can iron out the Plan to my wife's individual needs.

I recall reading that if you sign into your account online, you can see what your price for the iphone will be.

One good thing (hopefully) is that Telus is dropping the system access fee starting November 5th as well.

Q. As an existing TELUS client, can I stay on my existing rate plan and remove SAF and carrier 911 fees?
A. No. The expenses covered by System Access and carrier 911 fees still exist, so you must continue to pay the fees while you remain on your existing plan. You have the option to change to Clear Choiceâ„¢ rate plans as of November 5, but if you choose to do so, you will forfeit the benefits and features of your existing rate plan.
theire clear choice plans arent that great, or they likely just accounted for saf+911 costs into the new plans.

Telus subscribers won't see a huge savings though, as the company is also increasing the price of its monthly service plans by $5 to make up for the revenue shortfall.

Have you ever considered that maybe it's because we're still 8 days away from November 5?
