As far as I know, they are not transferable...correct?
So is it possible to return it (4 months ago) due to item being sold to another person?

I think I have had a refund on a warranty once when I returned the product within the 30 days. I thought the warranties were transferable because all you need is a receipt. I am not a 100% sure, but i am pretty certain they are transferable. If you go in, they only look at your receipt. So even if it is not the same person as the receipt, they would not know. I dont see how they could back out of servicing a product they sold a warranty for.

In terms of returning the warranty after 4 months, there is no way in hell they would do that, i am fairly certain of that.

They certainly are transferrable.

thank you guys
that helps.

but it probably wouldn't be transferable if i sold the item to a store (that deals with used stuff), would it?

Eh, maybe, maybe not.

If they pass on your original receipt to the new owner, then sure, Future Shop doesn't know the difference.

FS gives you a hard enough time when you want to return a warranty within the 30 day limit so they are not going to return one after 4 months. Also the warranty is transferable as others have said. Just hand over the invoice to whomever you have sold/given the item. If you don't have the invoice anymore then you could get a copy from FS.
