View Full Version : Timeshare Presentations @ Orlando

I'm thinking of booking our next 6night trip to Orlando in one of those timeshare presentation resorts since they are really cheap.
The site I looked at was: http://www.thevacationstore.info/orlando_florida.htm
Price for 1 week in a 2 bedroom is about $543 (incl. tax). Not bad for having to go through a 90 min. presentation.
Any thoughts on people that recently did a similar thing? Can you share some updated sites that have similar options? The RFD topics are back from 2008 and things have changed since then.

I don't get those time share things?
It seems like a huge scam to me..?
Don't they bug the hell out of you until you buy their timeshare crap?

I had no intention of going on that one when i got a call from them, but I strung a group from M4 Marketing along to the VERY END to see what exactly all the rage was when they called one time.
They offered:
-A trip to Cancun (all inclusive for 6 days (5 nights))
-A 4 day trip to Orlando including passes to a theme park. (breakfast only)
-a 5 day cruise through the carribean ("all inclusive").
Total cost: $799 . . . and a 90 minute presentation in Cancun + Orlando.
WELL . . .
-$799 U.S. DOLLARS
-NO Airfare included (for the trips it was $500 per person (cancun) / $550 per person (orlando) / from $550 to $800 per person (cruise from port canveral)
-You MUST pay port fees for the Cruise @ 3 ports. Range from $100 - $150 US) = approx $350 US.
So APPROX PRICE =
-Cost $799 US ($894 can)
-Airfare ($1600 BEST CASE SCENARIO)
-Port Fees $350 US ($392 CAN)
Total = $2900.00
It MIGHT be a deal for some people. But considering average deals for those lengths of trips, you could make a trip WHEN and WHERE you wanted for the same price or maybe a couple hundred more.
IMHO . . . Sketchy Marketing Maneuver.

just back from Orlando,,,,,,,,,did the vacation store thing again as in the past. We were upgraded to a two bdrm unit for $250 approx for 7 nights and had to tour calypso cay resort. Our salesperson got our message about not interested in the first 10 min and she didnt know what to do,,, so she asked why we were there and we politely said to take advantage of the offer and get a top notch condo for almost nothing. Told her we have no problem with 90 min of contractual time. She then left us for 60 min on our own,,, which we got caught up on emails etc with our blackberrys,,, then she came back and we did the exit interview with a manager,,, and done. No one bothers you again for the week. Cant beat it:D
should also say we have done about 15 of these or more in Orlando in order to get our condo for almost $0

We did the timeshare presentations thing about 3 years ago in Orlando. We were 24, 23, 18, 13 years old at the time so they didn't really kick us out (our parents weren't with us on the trip). They were really pushy that we were actually quite convinced that it would be a good idea to go for it (well, my sister did). Thanks to my cheapskate-ness (I am an RFD member after all), I realize that it wasn't worth it despite all the pressure. They gave us a tour around their resort (I forgot the name) and it looks really nice though. They did give us a couple of tickets to Universal Studios as a bonus even though we didn't sign up. The entire time takes about 2-3 hours so don't go when you are planning on being in a park the entire day. After that, we headed to Blizzard Beach for some water park fun.

That sounds rather fun, I don't mind being pushed..
If you have no money, how can you buy anything?
lol!
How do I sign up?

Our Problem is that we affraid that we might actually end up singning the contract, 90 mins is not much time for 7 days trips, but i think the probability that we might cave are very high.

Let them know we are "one of those people" in the timeshare sales industry we are the ones who take advantage of them and the offers!!! Tell them straight out,, you have been to dozens of these things and only here for your obligation for your offer. Not interested period.
We have done so many of these I have lost count!! lol Never spent more then $200-300 for 7 nights of deluxe accomadations in Orlando area over the past 5yrs and we go 1-2 times per yr to take advantage of these deals.
