Bono... nice tribute to Stephen Gately... except none of that 96,000 strong probably know who he was.

I have to say I was pretty impressed by the quality of both the video and audio. I wonder how many people watched this live tonight and what exactly went into the back end to keep this running smoothly (besides Google's endless supply of cash).

It wasn't that impressive of a technological feat.. We've seen a fully streamed Summer Olympics and that bandwith-insane Obama inaguration over the past 18 months.
Nor was it the first time a concert was streamed live over the internet. Live 8 comes to mind..... and that was pre-Youtube with coverage at each of the 7 concerts over a 36 hour period. I loved switching between the Paris and London streams that day - since CTV was tape delaying everything when 4 of the concerts were being held simultaneously that afternoon. It was a pretty big gamble at the time... considering Net Aid bombed horribly back in 1999.
