Hi.
I've got somewhat long hair... since people say "emo" hair is in style now I guess, and I pretty much wash my hair either twice a day if I have time, once a day mostly and sometimes every other day but my hair gets really oily if I don't wash it every day.
How often do you people wash your hair???

I presume you mean shampoo?
Every 2nd day...unless I do something that gets it especially dirty.
But it gets washed (water only) every day.
My wife insists she needs to shampoo every day, and does. But IMO, her hair is dry and frizzy and has no sheen at all. I think if she got over her phobia of greasy hair, it would look much better.

My hair feels greasy on the second day. I also have to wash my hair every day on the week days usually because I found out hair straighteners are pretty good at getting lightly curled hair so I keep my hair a little longer, and my manager doesn't mind it :)

bro washing your hair twice a day is too much!.Unless you work in a dirty job 3 times a week wash with conditioner is good enough.Try Burts Bee's shampoos its %98 natural if you worry about dry chemical damaged hair.

I used to have greasy hair that required shampooing every day or every other day.
A few months ago, I switched to a sulfate-free and phosphate-free shampoo and slowly shampooed less and less. My hair was greasy for the first week or so, but after the adjustment period, now my hair is never greasy. I just shampoo once a week or two weeks, and I condition every other day now. My hair has never felt better. It's no longer dry and dull.
There're a lot of chemicals in ordinary shampoos and conditioners. I'm using Nude (http://www.dunaturals.com/nude/) now. I found it PharmaPlus.
Edit: I have straight, medium length, Asian hair.

Meh, I don't have the time/desire/need to wash my hair every day.
I wash is about every 3 days. Sometimes just twice a week.
But my hair will only start to get oily on day 3.
It really depends on how quickly your own hair gets oily, if you sweat a lot, if you are using styling products, or if you pick up environmental smells (smoke, cooking odors) if you are in certain settings.

When people get older... the hair doesn't grow as fast as it does when you are younger.. like from when you are young until you are like 20 or older I think.

IT may not grow as fast, but it falls out quicker.
Still, you should wash every day.

I use shampoo made for daily use so I use it daily. I tried doing it every other day but I can't stand doing it like that... even just washing it with water on the non shampoo days.

with water everyday, shampoo every 2nd/3rd day
...I think this sounds kind of gross, but since shampooing every 2nd/3rd day my hair is so much more healthier. I don't use any hairproducts in my hair, and I air-dry (seldom blow-dry), if that info helps at all..

I use Dry Shampoo in between wet shampoo.
It takes away any greasiness, and put volumn back in my hair.

I shower twice daily but I shampoo my hair once a day. I use "leave-in" conditioner spray every other day and I only deep-condition my hair once every two weeks.

I have shoulder lenght hair and I wash every 3 days or so. I find it to be a real hassle to wash, untangle, blow dry or style hair so I keep it to a minimum.
When my hair gets a little oily on the third day that's when I keep it up in a pony tail and it's fine.
I noticed using conditionner makes it oilier, so I try to avoid it if my hair is shorter.
There's no point in washing long hair everyday, the oils from your scalp are actually beneficial and if you use good brushes made from like boars' bristles or other natural fibers it'll help distribute the oil from your scalp to your hair. That's what gives it natural shine.
If you've ever heard the saying that you should brush your hair a hundred strokes, that's the principle behind it.

Every day. My hair get so oily after 24 hours that I can use it as cooking oil. I need to find a shampoo to make it drier.
