I booked a flight and hotel from Nov 21-25 going to Las Vegas from Toronto w/ MGM Grand being my hotel (including 3 meals a day for 2 people) for $1080 w/ taxes. I wanted to perhaps change my mine and book w/ west jet vacation from Nov 25- Dec 2 staying at New York New York with no meals and same flight times, etc for $1220 w/ taxes...The reason I want to do this is because west jet gives a $400 credit for booking a week....however, I would have to pay $100 for 2 people to cancel the flight and approx $140 difference in rates for a total of $240 but I would get $400 in travel for future flights....The only problem with this is I would have a flight credit in the amount after fees of around $650 and would have to pay the $1220 for the change...let me know if I should keep my stay or change it Thanks!

With the change fees and such is really is not with it is it? We stayed at MGM in August with the free buffet deal and I'd do it again. It's pricey to eat three meals a day plus drinking and gambling. We ate twice a day at the buffet and while the choices are usually the same there is lots so you don't have to eat the same thing every meal. The hotels are in the same spot so I'm not sure I see many advantages to changing at this point?

You will have to spend more by staying 2 extra days. I think 5 days is good enought for vegas!:cheesygri I would stay with MGM.

Have fun!

do they charge the meals to the room and refund you @ the end of the trip? did you have any problems with the buffet deal? am I correct 3 meals a day for 2 people? did the $20 trick work at all?

You charge it to your room but it is taken care of automatically when you check out. It is 3 meals a day for two people.

Just the svaing on the food alone is crazy. It retails for 30USD each per day...

And MGM beds are amazing, I would bet that MGM is the better hotel between the two...

All true. Each morning they will charge the buffets to your room and get you a punch card for lunch/dinner. Nothing showed up on our bill at checkout.

We did not try the upgrade since we had three of us staying in the room, the $20 trick I've heard it not that successful at MGM...just what I've heard though.
