hi, i'm a bit new to this so please excuse some of the inquiries i have but i'm trying to book a vacation around the Boxing Day to New Years period for my friends and myself, likely in the Caribbean or Florida. Is it recommended to book an all inclusive package or should i get a separate flight and hotel in the hopes of getting better deals? And looking at the Last Minute Travels thread, are there some specific booking sites on there that anyone would especially recommended, based on past experiences? Thanks, looking forward to any assistance that comes up :cheesygri

Do not know any websites off the top of my head, but you should search around for the best prices comparing the same resorts.

IMO, all inclusive is the way to go. Stress free relaxing time, not to expensive. If you stick on the resort and relax you never really have to worry about what to go and buy and eat and at what time as you can really go whenever you want (of course there are set times for breakfast, lunch, & dinner but snack bars are open 24/7. Also, no worries about closing stores for food or things to do...

I would recommend taking a look at Varadero, Cuba.

Good luck!

It's a matter of personal opinion, and my opinion is completely different. I generally find better deals outside of packages. I stay flexible about where I'm going until I see a cheap flight. (look at SEA to MCO or FLL in January. There's some cheap Caribbean cruises out of FLL as well. ) Then I start looking for a cheap hotel deal. When I see a better hotel deal, I book that and cancel the previous booking.

You can always find cheap booze and food. I don't mind paying a-la-carte from a dirty Mexican taco stand that's stealing power from a lamp pole.

It depends on your personality. I go on vacation for a touch of adventure. Some people go for relaxation. If I feel like relaxing, then I'd rather go on a cruise then to an all-inclusive hotel.

Some people are better off with an all-inclusive, some are better off without.
