I live at home I'm 24 and I work part time and I'm about to kill some random person on the streets if I don't move out. Downside is I have like no money. I work 10-15 hours at most a week.
How did you guys do it how can I do it? I mean I really really need to get out or I feel my independence and life will go right out of the drain. Hell I don't even want to live in Canada anymore I'm hatting it here so much.

I think it's time for some self-reflection. Why are you 24 and only have a part time job? Why don't you look for a better job? Did you finish school or attempt to? What went wrong in the past years? Where do you want to be in 5 or 10 years?

Why I only have a part time job was because it was hard finding another one I work in a grocery store hehe. I have talents with computers but never finished my Course at Georgian College but still going to school there.
I want to find a full time or better part time job. I'm looking for something in computers or really anything that don't care much about a frigan piece of paper but rather use my skills I have.
I would like to be working full time and maybe even living in a small house in 5-10 years from now or moved to the stats and live in an apartment in NY.

Well if I left my house right now I would be homeless and I mean at this point I would rather take the bus up north find a cottage closed down with no one near it for miles and break in and camp in it till I get busted weeks and months later :P

What's the rush to move out? Moving out at age 28 seems pretty normal to me nowadays. If you have a roof to live under, just accept it, you're gonna have a more trouble living on your own anyways and 15 hours a week isn't going to help either. You're not showing your independence by moving out, you're just showing stupidity, especially when you work only 15 hours a week at a supermarket.
Just find a higher paying job first, then consider moving out. Don't get picky about the jobs nowadays, request more hours at the supermarket if possible.

it seems pretty simple to me, either try and finish your education, or stop wasting time/money in school and find a full time job.

people in your case, get loans and go to school or go to school and live at home for a lil longer to save on loans.
if we were all hired by skill, u think us losers would be at school rather than like you, at home and working at a grocery store?
i think your family is just on ur ass cause u can do better, don't sell yourself short living your current miserable life.

op - what's making you want to move out so badly?
IMO - I would reap the benefits of staying at home. Save up a lot and then use that to pay a downpayment on a home when you are ready. I'm 23 in a 5 days..and I'll probably be living at home for another 3-4 years. No rush, short term pain for long term gain dude!

Maybe you should talk to your parents about this rather than some random folks on the internet.

im also 24 living with my parents, and for last couple months have been REALLY wanting to move out.
I do have a full time job, but between rent, insurance, etc, I am going to literally have no extra money, so if something comes up I will be screwed.
My parents arnt in a rush or anything for me to move out, but I definitely want to, so I set a goal. By the end of 2010 I will be moved out. So I will probably move out sometime next summer or fall.. I just have to..

Try poker on the internet, earn a berth in bigger tournaments. Get invited to WPT events or the WSOP and win them.

Finish your schooling son. Either that, move out and work at that grocery store full time.
Do what you have to do.

If you're 24 and you haven't finished school and have no contacts within the IT industry, I know what I would do. Become an electrician. Chances are you already know how to run cat5, you can probably crimp ends and shave down cable, that's a good basic start! Get an electrician's apprenticeship. That's what a buddy of mine did and he makes more than me now. And the guy that got into sheet metal and gas lines makes as much as both of us combined. It's insane how much you can make right now as a specialized trade worker.
If you decide to go through the IT route, it's going to be a tough ride. I go started because I met the right people and was lucky enough to co-op for an IBM business partner that picked me right up out of school, and then a few years later I got an "in" to a large company through my girlfriend. There is so much competition in the IT industry right now that you *HAVE* to know people to get anywhere. At 24 with no prospects, I would personally get out of it.
As for your living conditions, if it's that important to you to move out (which I understand), find a small place and 3 way rent it. It's the cheapest way to start out. When I first moved out a buddy of mine and I split the main floor of a little house in Toronto for $1300 inclusive, $650/month each including all utilities and cable tv. Can't live much cheaper than that.
