IKEA will design your home to the best of their abilities with their own in-house designer's. Book your appointment to save you $100's of dollars (in my opinion).
I wasted tons of money because I kept buying the wrong things, don't make my mistake and use them before you buy!
Heck, if you want to buy your furniture from another store, just use their designer expertise to get an idea on the best way to make your place look sweeeet.

No problem. I've known about IKEA for maybe ten years and just found out about this now! (It's been around for just as long.)

Thanks, I book an appnt for next Saturday.
Just in time to get some ideas for my new home purchase!
Is this an on-going thing or a promo?
Other than floor plans, and items from their catelogue, what can I bring for them to work with?
I don't want to purchase Ikea things but I do like their style.

You need the dimensions of all your rooms, and idea of what you want (i.e. from their catalog or the look from somewhere else), and that's about it. It's ongoing.

So...How'd it go?
Overall I'd say it's really helpful.
My meeting ran for about 40-45 mins.
I showed up with the dimensions of my living/dining room and master bedroom, along with photos. I also brought with me paint samples and photos of the type of look I was going after.
I was given suggestions on where to place furniture, what sort of lighting to use, how to make the most of the space, natural light, overall flow of the home, etc and these were all offered according to my suggestions.
There wasn't any pressure to buy a Fluug, Krupkt or any Ikea product but suggestions were offered.
The representative also drew out a basic floor plan for my 2 rooms, showing how things should be placed.
Seeing as they were able to incorporate what I wanted, along with having more thoughts from the rep, it was a great way to brainstorm suggestions.
If you are interested in doing this, I would suggest having as much material as you can to bring with you to make their job and yours a lot easier and be prepared to work together to find what is best for you.
FYI: I worked with Teresa at the Leslie/401 location in Toronto. I met her in the desk/PC table section on the 2nd floor, last Saturday morning.

Realized I had a problem with mine after posting, he told me to buy the wrong coffee table, even though he suggested the other one. Luckily it came damaged, but now I need to figure out how to get a coffee table home without a car, not pleased.
