Tablet for school?

Hey guys,

considering getting a tablet to take notes for school..I already have a macbook and LOVE it, and this would be a secondary for sure, pretty much just for notes/browsing..

Cost should be under 500, i can dig refurb note books not a fan of used though!

If you are looking for the best deal, this should go in request a deal.

Personally, I've always prefered typing over writing. I have a tablet for my PC and I used it once, and put it back in the box. Takes a lot of practice and patience to get used to, and I just wasn't up for it.

Also theres rumors of an apple tablet coming out soon (also one for Microsoft) also I'd expect it to cost more than 500.

Have you considered smart phones? An iPod Touch could fill in the browsing department pretty well.

and I agree with angekfire, try using a tablet in class first, a few of my frds got a tablet and then never used the touchscreen function at all.

Hey i already have an iphone, I actually plan to attend medical college in a year or so, problem is that I'm so used to taking notes by hand, and really taking 50-100 slides a day worth of notes really adds up so I'm leaning towards a tablet...

Ebay is a viable option..

I've heard Apple is coming out with a tablet sometime soon, but I doubt it'll be affordable straight away anyway.
