I'm not that short 5"6, 36" chest, but I have difficulty finding clothes that suit my taste and that are my size. The GAP is where I get most of my clothes, but they're pretty expensive. I am currently looking for vests, blazers and above all, a nice wool coat.
Is there anywhere around Toronto that might carry small sizes and that is more affordable? such as outlets etc?
I went to shortman's world and most of the clothes there are for short people but are not fitted.

Try MEXX. They go to XS and 34.

Give Zara a try. European style fit over there.

I dont think he'll be too fond with Zara's prices if he thinks Gap is expensive.
I don't know when do you make your Gap purchases but never pay retail for Gap.

Totally agree with the previous posters. European designers tend to be smaller. Mexx and Zara (especially good) are great for smaller sizes except it is definitely going to be more expensive than the Gap, and you'll more than likely fit all the dimensions except for the sleeves which usually will need to be shortened by a tailor/seamstress. Banana Republic used to be good but they seem to have increased their sizes so a small isn't so small anymore.
Maybe try Pacific Mall? They cater to asians who on average have a smaller frame.

I am just a bit bigger than you, but still "small" (5'9" 180 lbs, not fat though). Mexx, H&M, Urban Behaviour, Guess, and the random place here and there is where I find most my stuff. I actually just picked up a whole bunch of dress shirts from Walmart in Markham, 20 $ each, fitted, really nice actually. Most european type places carry stuff for our size, since most north american type stores (bay, walmart, old navy, etc) carry stuff for the hormone induced north american "large" folk :cheesygri jk : )

Nowadays, im not sure if that stat would still hold up in a place like Toronto. Many ethnic groups are generally small and they've settled in Canada.. Just look at Canadian schools and you'll see tons of guys shorter than 5'10. I'm not trying to be a stereotype/racist or anything but Asians on average do not reach 5'10.

Have you check H&M, I'm about the same size as you and i find their jackets/dress shirts really nicely fitted but of course their quality isn't as good as others.

Quick search on google will show Canada as 5'9.5....I believe that this is becase of the Asian influence. Interestingly in the US, they break down and show 5-11 for white and black.
I typically have the opposite problem. Many of the European cuts just too small for my frame, so I have to go to North American brands.

Give Winner's a try, you could score some nice finds there.
Agree with Mexx and H&M, the smalls and X-smalls are true to the description. H&M is not very expensive.
There is a Le Chateau outlet near 403 / Dundas , nice selection, tight fitting.

Lol at the guy saying 5'9 and 180 lb's is short.
P.s. I like the (not fat though)
Rofl I'm 5'7 I think that's supposed to be under average but I don't really know to many people like towering over me or anything honestly I find I'm perfect height I love my height.
And I'm 175lbs rofl but far from fat just a bigger frame, for some reason people always think I'm a lot smaller than I am though like they guess me around 155-160 probably cause I carry a lot of weight in my legs.
Anyway I shop at H&M, AE, Aeropostale, Urban Behaviour, Urban Planet (jeans)
Those are probably my main 4 not to say I only stick to em but they're my first choices usually.

That would be me :D Not "short" like crazy short, but I do admit that most males I encounter are slighter taller than me most of the time. That is why I consider myself "short". Let's say " a smidgeon below average" if you will:D EDIT: Actually 5'8" 1/2" to be exact however, I just round up : )
