You may want to add a big YMMV in your title.

i wa sweating to carry my old 27" tube TV from the bsmt to BB to trade in for $200 off for buying a 50" or larger TV as they advertised, but this only apply for buying 2 selected models (on their own list) , not for this model that i wanted to buy.
But the receipt only shows the cost of the TV is $799.

The ad was pretty specific that it is only on best buy exclusive tvs but good on you for managing to get the discount on other tvs. Big YMMV but as I said you must have been pretty good with the manager or he just wanted you out of there. Either way good job.

I think that you've hit on a good strategy for these trade in events.
Get the largest POS tube TV carryable by one man, apply some fake sweat to your forehead, struggle it into CS and say whew I brought this to trade in on a new PN50B450 (insert other model here) just like the ad says, and when they tell you that it doesn't qualify you look at them with mock indignation and say WTF do you mean it doesn't qualify. Got to be good for a hundred every time. I am gonna use this.

Throw in a fake heart attack on their doorstep (or a real one if you want to go full out), and they might throw in a free Reward Zone membership :)

Maybe even drop the trade in on your foot while you are doing it. Nothing says discount like a potential law suit.

this is a good tv
anyone that doesn't want to spend the money on a 1080p plasma should get it
even though it's 720p it will provide more detailed image than a 1080p lcd will due to it's 600hz subfield drive that will ensure you get a full 720 lines of motion resolution as opposed to about 400 on a 60hz 1080p LCD or about 600 on a 120hz lcd

Thanks for the thought with the receipt.
If the receipt actually only says $799, with no notations about discounts or coupons, that might help others to get some other Best Buys to match.
If you want to, you could scan it and put it in a folder in Pictures and Albums in your control panel on the left side. Then post a link to that page in your next post.

Well maybe some reference will help some people understand what is motion resolution: http://hdguru.com/will-you-see-all-the-hdtv-resolution-you-expected-125-2008-model-test-results-hd-guru-exclusive/287/
I still think the best way to evaluate a set is to go and see it for yourself, paper numbers might sound appealing but can't reflect a real life experience. If you don't see a difference then don't bother with the specs.

Motion resolution isn't the only aspect to consider when buying a display, but it is one that should be considered. It's really an attempt to quantify the effects of motion blur on a displays moving images, IMO. 60hz lcd's as no suprise typically have the worst motion resolution, 120hz better, 240hz better still, plasma is usually the best or tied with the best LCD's for top honors. This is not anything that isn't already well known and accepted by almost everyone. That motion blur can be a major issue on 60hz LCD's, and that the frame interpolation systems,120hz, 240hz, are there to help combat this tendency. That's not to say that plasma displays don't have their own set of issues, too.
