you could probably get an even bigger discount if you actually bargained with the salesperson. Just tell them you want to buy a tv with the minimum amount of fuss but the current price is a bit out of your budget. if he's willing to cut it a bit you'll buy right there thus helping him make a quick sale so he can meet his sales quota/get a commission.
if they don't budge ask someone else, there's always someone that willing and hungry enough to deal

at 1800 for a 46 id rather pay a bit more and grab a 52 inch. too much for something thats not quite that big. most people i know as well either go for low 40's or low 50's.

Just picked up the Sharp Aquos LC-46D85U at Costco last week for $1299.99reduced from 1499.99. This is a 120hz LCD with a great picture, and even if someone disputes that it's not as 'good' as the Samsung, it's still $550 cheaper for the same size! It really blows my mind on how many tv experts there are out there, especially the ones whose eyes are so sensitive that they must spend tons of extra money just to ensure they can see that extra pixel just right. Oh, I should mention, for those that are not already aware, Costco extends the warranty to 2 years, and I do have 90 days to return it if I'm not satisfied within that period of time.

The LN46A650 was $1700+tax at BB this past boxing day. $1850 isn't hot.
Fantastic TV, though! Haven't regretted the purchase at all.
EDIT: I feel like mentioning that you're looking at the LN46B640. If that's somehow a step forward, ignore me.

If the TV's already on sale, you're looking at getting like $20-30 bucks off max... if you wanted warranty or a complete HT set, they can probably do much better.
Wasn't this TV $1699 a few weeks ago..?

HDTV&Electronics has 52" LN52B610 for $1799. It is advertised on a Chinese magazine on Sunday as their new low price. I'm sure you can negotiate further for a better price.

these days when Canadian dollar is going up I don't think that price is even normal (not even close to hot)
I would strongly recommend you to wait since holidays season is coming and price is going down for many reasons (now marketing is working on 240 Hz so these 120Hz tv should be cheaper but IMO there is no diff compared to 240Hz)
Other option is Costco as somebody mentioned - huge difference in price for almost same quality TV.

and a month ago, I got it with free blu-ray for $1499 (and many got free HT + Bluray for $1599)
Fun how people compare B610, B640 and A650 as if it were all the same to say if a deal is hot or not.

It's not. The 650 is guaranteed to have a S-PVA panel (S-LCD), unlike the lower models that use a "panel lottery" system, and can have A-MVA (AUO/AU Optronics) and S-MVA (CMO/CHI-Mey Optoelectronics)
