Hey lads,
I was wondering on what your favourite radio station(s) do you listen to almost every day?
For me, I prefer something more adult contemporary and some classical. I also like to listen to general issues about the current events and some news as well.
Here are my favourites:
CHFI 98.1
CP24 Radio 1050
680 News
Newstalk 1010 CFRB
97.3 EZ-Rock (infrequently listen to this station)
Classical 96.3FM (only during school days)
It's quite odd to see a 23-year-old listen to CHFI-FM, but I've began to listen to that particular station when I was about little. There was one time that CHFI once tried to market themselves as a "teen-esque" radio station.
Back then in June 2003, Mad-Dog and Billie (formerly of the old Kiss 92.5 radio station then changed to Jack FM and finally reverting to Kiss 92.5) were once hosts of the morning show displacing Erin Davis and Mike Cooper (the latter is currently unknown). Davis later "emerged from the ashes" a year later in 2004, when she was with competitor 97.3 EZ-Rock FM. Her sidekick, Mike Cooper began to entertain the people.
It wasn't until June 2005 when Mad-Dog and Billie was given the "pink slip" and three months later, Erin Davis made a triumphant comeback to CHFI, which back then had their ratings tumbled. Mad-Dog and Billie were funny - while it lasted! With Davis and Cooper hosting the morning show on CHFI, everything was back to normal.
Alright, I've have enough talk about "boring stories" about that, but I vaguely remember those days. I wasn't aware that 92.5 Jack FM turned KISS - after I came back from my holiday (vacation) for a cruise along the Baltic Sea. At that time when I left the country, it was still Jack FM.
Many listeners (mostly vintage KISS listeners) welcomed it as a comeback. But for me, enough said. I remember the good old KISS day and some piece of Jack as well, but I'm currently "inclined" to these stations listed above.
There was one time that on CHFI - a favourite programme made me go to sleep. That programme is called "Lovers and Other Strangers". While the programme may be gone from broadcast, it lives on as a podcast.
Anyways, what are your favourite radio stations?
