Looking for an underwater digital camera I'll be using to go snorkeling.
I'm looking for:
5+ Mega pixels
3m (10ft) depth or more
<$300
Shockproof to an extent
Any info would be greatly appreciated

There are those cameras that are marketed as "waterproof" up to x metres, but I wouldn't take it to go snorkelling. It's best to get a purpose designed waterproof case for your existing camera.

Except that would cos aapprox 280$
Then again, even a basic waterproof digital camera will be like 300$

DSLRs aren't the type of camera you'd take to the beach - much less underwater. Besides, waterproof casings aren't overly portable or cheap. No point in spending a ton of $ on something i'd use maybe twice a year.
