Thanks for sharing.
Too bad the game will be "not for resale" and won't be acceptable at most BB for the T4G2F.

Is this printed on the disc as well as the case? If not, could try getting a $0.70 colour printout at Staples of the retail game case sleeve. I've done that in the past after buying used games at BBV without cover art and then traded them into EB.

For sur it can be done, good tip, preferable to do it with glossy paper ...
I prefer myself to get games from EB/BBV using credit, there is no credit at HMV yet!!!
For people that have others Guitar Hero games and could use an extra guitar, it is a great deal for sure.

I can confirm this deal. At the downtown HMV Toronto (Yonge and Dundas), the GH3 (w/ wireless guitar) was $10. It's it in front of the cashier in the games section (far right entrance). The box has a sticker saying HMV will not deal with any issues with the hardware/software (contact the manufacturer). The game comes in a regular Xbox360 case and has a small statement that is not for resale.

I didn't see this one, but I did pick up the Rock Band 2 Wireless Drum Set (Wii) for $29. This was a better deal for me, since RB2 for Wii is very rare, and my kids both love the drums.

I'm going to take a look tomorrow morning after my midterm. I have a broken RB2 wireless guitar and I've been using my X-plorer for now.

Grabbed one tonight, thanks! Where the UPC code would be says "Not for resale" and it's printed right on the sleeve, not a removable sticker. Might pick up another tomorrow.

Does anyone know how accurate is the HMV stock checking tool on their website? If it reports correctly, then those who can get out to the Mississauga store should have a better chance of getting one of the seven available units.
I like the fact it can do a radius search of up to 5,000 km from the postal code entered.

Thanks for saving me a trip. Today I checked out both Metrotown stores in Burnaby (I still don't understand why one mall has two HMV's lol), and neither had stock.

Sick was down there on the weekend. Going to check HMV's more often. I had a gut feeling to go in but decided against it at the last possible second to go to Game Shack instead.
Hope there is at least some left want the wireless guitar my GH2 one is worn out.

Heartland was regular price. They said might be location specific.
My brother got me one at 333 Yonge, since they couldn't hold a copy. They even said it was their store only

Called the HMV at Portage Place, Polo Park, and KP and none had stock. They also said that the price is still listed as $49.99.

Thanks OP, I'll check it out after lunch. Not bad for an extra wireless guitar. Picked DDR at the same location for $10 but they must have added GH3 later.

It could be the amount the downtown Toronto store had and they were probably just trying to clear them out

Damn wanted to get one oh well hope maybe some other stores have any. Anybody check Queen Street West or any other stores in Toronto?
lambada_dave
Oct 19th, 2009, 02:23 PM
Queen Street in Toronto has one, but when asked they said it was full price, they were not offering the sale price. They seemed aware of it, but weren't honoring it. It was 49.99, I think.
A great deal thread, but it may be dead.

My Wii RB2 wireless drum set was brand-new and in perfect shape, and for my money, this is a better deal than the guitar - I can find cheap guitars all over the place, but drums rarely get clearanced.
HMV often marks clearance stuff like this so they absolutely never have to see it again. Out the door and out of mind.

think this is dead. called a handful of stores and they said all they had were just the guitar for 4.99 not the bundle with the game. stopped in at a few and they were cleaned out - not getting anymore stock.

I think this was store specific. Anyone else got it at the $10 price from another location other than downtown Toronto? I went to 2 different HMV, both had stock, both scaned at $49.99

I purchased ten of these bundles from the downtown VANCOUVER location for 5 dollars a piece. They were selling them for 10 dollars with an extra 50% off.
I sold a few to a pawn shop for 40 dollars a piece, and the left went to Best Buy trade ins (kept the guitars of course, traded them in at EB Games)
It was a ridiculous steal.
50$ 10 x 5 dollar guitars =
80 dollars cash
2 x Trade 4 for 2 Deal =
312 trade in credit at Best Buy :)
Wow.

These deals at Yonge/Dundas HMV are store specific. Back when the Yonge St. "Superstore" was clearing out the Lips+2 wireless mic packages, I tried to see if the Eaton Centre HMV would PM.. they said that the pricing applied only to the Yonge St. location.

Hey guys, I work at the Dundas HMV and yeah, it is store specific, we just had a lot of stock to get rid of for the holiday season. The only thing that is left are PS2 GH Aerosmith bundles (some with 2 guitars) and some Playstation drum sets (call to see if they are PS2 or 3, cant remember).
But a similar deal like this MIGHT come about around Christmas or just after, we're hoping. Not promising. Check back yall.
Also we might put up a Twitter account for more instantaneous updates.
