another trade-in deal for who missed yesterday's DVD player;
Staples has the KXTG6412S for 53$ in their two weeks flyer.
http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?webid=792786&CatIds=&AffixedCode=WW&=&=
And BB is currently selling the phone for $89, BB is also having the trade-in event for Trading in your old telephone and get $30 off any Panasonic multi-handset cordless phone.

So it will come out $19+tax for this set of phone after PM and trade-in. so YMMV, BB will change their trade-in rule soon!:razz:[/SIZE]

The Staples phone is OOS, so I doubt they'll accept a PM.
Anyway, wouldn't they'd knock off $30 based on the retail price and THEN price match? If that's the case, they you don't really save too much.

Show stock here in Vancouver.
Pricesmatch first and than trade in. If they don't acept, than purchase it and trade it in later, if that makes sense.

just corrected the link for the staples. It is really a in-store deal. First asking for PM, then apply the $30 trade in. The stores of BB show stocks in Montreal area. When I left , there still have more than 6 units in BB Marche centre .

in-store only
Trade in your old telephone and get $30 off any Panasonic multi-handset cordless phone. We’ll accept and recycle any brand of telephone between October 16 – 21.
As long as it is a phone, it should work. Yes, use that method.

Can you pair more than 2 handsets?
I want to buy two and have 1 Main + 2 Aux set, and another set with just 1 Main. It's so I can use the call between handsets feature.
Anyway great deal. Can't be any worse than the phone I need a sharp object to press the keys with! :cheesygri

Yea, you should be able to pair them, one base supports up to 6 handsets, i dnot see any reason why they wont be able to pair, especially if their the same model. lol yeah the intercom feature is pretty useful if you need it, too bad the button isnt smack on the front page, you have to click a few buttons.

they sold it during their anniv. sale in prev. wk's sale, and sale was expiring Thurs. night
i got my flyers late, looked at it close to midnight, realized the trade promo, so i quickly ordered for ISPU before price reverted back to reg. price
p/u the order today (CSR had to P/O for $50 price as scanning UPC revealed reg. price)... CSR looked for some promo sheet to find some SKU
system accepted SKU and showed $30 discount
$20 + tax :D (took some 10-15 min for them to find the promo SKU though, but the wait was worth it)
prbly the cheapest panny multi-HS cordless phone i've ever bought :D
i guess for you guys now, the PM route is the only option... GL

It's OOS online but that doesn't say anything about store stock.
It'd be best to have the flyer so you don't print out a "Out of stock" printout to use for PM.
I went to Richmond Hill BB today, they're apparently OOS :(

Cashier called manager who said you can't combine the two offers.
I asked to talk to the manager.
We had about a 10 minutes discussion, which started with "I can talk you through it for as long as you want, but that wont change that I can't give you the deal", and ended with "ok, I can see your point its a gray area and I will let it go this time only".
This is the first time (for the last 4 years) I found a BB manager who you can actually converse with. I wouldn't have mind if didn't authorize it at the end at least he made a good argument.

Many thanks for bringing this deal.
I went to BB, PM it to Staples based on the flyer. (It was a difficult job as CSR try to play with the difference in the codes like c or with s..finally it works)
But they were not allowing me to combine the two offers.
What it is the advice?
Can I have adjustment at different store ? Or you have to go to the same store for the adjustment.. which will not work in my case?
Any suggestion?

That's what I did except I did the trade in first. I bought at Heartland and then went to Sherway to try and get a credit with PM. Heartland refused in the first place saying they couldn't combine promos. Went to Sherway and told the girl at customer service that I went home and found out about the sale price. She refused with the same excuse.

I don't see why would that work 99% of the time, instead of them asking you to return to the first store (where you were supposedly OKed to combine the promos) and get the credit there ..?!
BB Kitchener is now claiming that they don't carry that phone (although they had 3 around noon when I picked up mine), my unclaimed ISPU was canceled (online stock check doesn't even say OOS, it says "unavailable").

they should never send you back to the original store, you can get an adjustment anywhere. Also why would you tell the customer service rep anything about "combining offers", thats a dirty word at best buy, just say you were told you can get an adjustment later as you didnt have a phone with you at the time to trade in (no need to mention anything about you receiving a pm price), or if you dont like talking or are bad it dont say anything other than "i would like to get $20 back, here is my old phone and my receipt from yesterday". The customer service rep will not know the difference between someones pm'd price from staples or someones best buy sale price a few weeks ago (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/warm-panasonic-dect-6-0-2-handset-kxtg6412s-50-bb-fs-799416/), there is nothing to differentiate that on the reciept. The only reason you would be told to go to the original store is if you bought something that was an open box or demo item, and you were trying to return or exchange it, as they cant confirm the accessories/contents that were sold with it at the time of purchase. The other reason being bad luck and you get some anal rep, this is the 1% instance. Anyways i always play it smart, i.e. i do it in the morning, make it seem that im on the way to work, "rep said i could go back and receive the adjustment anytime" or "i just noticed the offer last night after i got home from the store" etc...
people managed to pm a 1k difference and then get a hundred dollar off coupon applied through the same technique, its not rocket science people:

Yes, if you start with a PM then your receipt wont show that.
And the only thing left for them is raise the "can't be applied to previous purchases" excuse.

Thanks OP. I have bought one (KXT6412CS) from BB. I really like it. But When I test this phone, it seems some problem with the date time function. This is the steps what I test:
1. Set date time of the phone as current time.
2. Call the phone and stop the call, then the phone screen display missed calls.
3. Take the handset off from the base.
4. Put the handset back to the base. Then the date time of the phone go back to some date time which I set before.
I need the second handset in the bedroom. Night mode is really important to me. If the date time doesn't work properly, then night mode won't work properly.
Could you guys test this? Does anybody has the same problem as me?
Thanks if somebody can test this.

I know 2 other people with the exact model, and these phones have major problems. Infact, we called Panasonic Warranty to figure out why we couldnt hear people, interference, etc - and they admitted that these phones had problems and could be returned under 'Panasonics Exchange Program'. The rep told me herself.
Not worth it IMO.

Remeber which stores give you good PM experience, and buy big items from these stores in the future when you need something such as TVs, fridges etc. For those stores give you hard time PMing, only use them for refund or exchange of defective items.

I saw the post yesterday and put an order online this morning for ISPU. At lunch time, I went to BB with flyers and 2 old phones. I asked for PM at first. The lady went inside and checked it is in stock in Staples. Then I asked for trade-in. She said two promotions couldn't be combined. After argument, she went inside to ask the manager and accepted trade-in with the final price $19.70+tax.
Right after I signed the receipt, I went to the shelf and grabbed another one and asked for doing it again. The lady went inside and came out with the manager. The manager checked the flyers and asked how many old phone I still have to trade in. I showed him only 1 left. I thought if I had brought 4 old phones the manager would have become crazy right away. Finally the manager arranged another cashier to do it. This time the final price is $19.74+tax. :)

I decided to attempt the "flyer-in-hand", phased approach. After waiting around for 30 minutes, (because they couldn't locate their own stock - and btw, there was none of these phones on display or a sticker/tag indicating its sale) I managed to get a cashier to PM the phones with Staples. She wasn't experienced with PM-ing and had to call over a manager after staring at my flyer for a few minutes. Once he straightened out the cash register key-pressing part of the price match, he walked away saying over his shoulder, "Oh and don't forget to give him 10% of the difference". Well, this made her go into a complete tizzy. She asked me what he had meant (when she saw the look of RFD-indoctrinated "10% difference" recognition in my eyes) so I explained it. As I explained it, I saw her completely freeze and her hand was trembling as she keyed in numerical nothingness into her calculator. It seemed that math and the whole concept thereof had been a real problem for her during her life and this virgin PM-ing experience was evidently conjuring up traumatic memories of being spanked with a quadratic paddy-whack or being sea sick while surfing a sinusoidal wave. The manager came back to rescue her and then walked away again in mid sentence, saying, "just give it to him at $49.99". By now, she had a figure on her calculator that was pushing one googolplex. She looked at me with eyes of absolute terror, begging for help and asked, "what did he say to give it to you for", to which I replied "$49.99". "$45.99?", she asked, to which I replied, "...ummmmm..." but she had already typed it in out of sheer relief to have completed the transaction, having stealthily avoided continued exposure to grade 5 math. What could I do but accept my trophy with a poker face? :D
Part 2 of Operation Confuse Cashier begins tomorrow when I shall attempt to trade in my shoe phone for the $30 discount. I'll be requesting that I be served by her and will point out that the trade in program for Panasonic phones where a shoe phone is implicated has a clause that requires that the associated discount calculation be inclusive of proving Fermat's Last Theorem.

i decided to attempt the "flyer-in-hand", phased approach.
Then don't attempt to do both at once. Be patient and try for a $30 discount a day later. If you try to do both at once, you are asking for trouble and not only that, you may truly jeopardize the chances of the rest of us who want to do the trade in tomorrow or the next day. As it currently stands, my receipt says nothing about a PM so I figure my chance of trade-in success is virtually 100% although my math isn't much better than the cashier's that I dealt with. Unless they look for the model number and check the current price, I can't see how they can refuse me. If they do play that game, I have a few cunning tricks left up my sleeve, one of which involves dirty underwear and a box of cookies but more on that later!

I was able to get trade in today .
It took 20-25 minutes but finally it went fine.
CSR was very helpful . She probably talked to her manager / Senior and then finally came with the decision that I can have the trade in due to the fact that "in the trade-in advertisement it is not mentioned anywhere that it cannot be combined with any other offer ( considering one offer as PM and the other as trade in).
So other members can argue based on the terms and condition of this trade in offer to other locations as well --- my assumption.
She first returned my phone and then did the trade in (altogether approx $24)
So now as per other member advice this location which is Bay/ Dundas is in my good books and will do all my expensive shopping in future from here( as in the next few months I'm planning for big TV and Laptop).
Thanks for all the advices form the members. otherwise I would have not been able to do that.

1) I have no idea whether "Jize" is a word but on the other hand, I didn't use such a term. I said "jeopardize", which is a word that you should be able to factor into its famous game-show constituent (phew, this one is gonna be tough for you) parts.
2) I was responding to your 1st post, quoted herein, that essentially alerts us that the the "cat has been let out of the bag" and that Best Buy is on to us....which, though I am humoring you, essentially justifies my use of "jeopardize"
3) ...and your third post is more of the same, implying (although it seems, in retrospect, that you may not get it) that they are saying, "yes, we know about your little game and no, we won't be playing it"

which one did u go to?
ask him why he couldn't honor both promotions, - and where in the rules does it state or anywhere go that these 2 promotions can not be combined, and make fuse until they give it to u

The trade in Promotion's Terms and Conditions states in its number 2 clause states that ;
2. Best Buy may refuse to accept any equipment under this program for any reason.
So they do have a right to not honour both promotions, thus making it YMMV.

Just completed the second part of my score. Got same cashier as last time. This time, she was ready for me and said she couldn't apply the $30 trade in credit because of the PM from the day before. I told her that under the North American Free Trade Agreement, Best Buy is bound by its responsibilities, relative to its carbon emission-reducing commitment of 2007 and as such, is required to apply a trade-in credit since my phone was made in Mexico and is being replaced by the 95.3% High Efficiency Panasonic model that, incidentally, also qualifies under the Home Renovation Tax Credit initiative and as such, must be respected as a controlled good within the context of the Geneva Convention. I think she almost peed herself, poor thing.

Even without trade in it's a good deal after PM though.
it's a warm deal IMO w/o trade
recall that BB's anniv. sale had this for $50 (possible $40 if you have the $10off50 SPC coupon)
but $20 after PM/trade discount = hot :D

do one thing at a time (in this case get the pm first), then head to another store and ask for the rest of the adjustment at customer service (i.e. you forgot to bring your old phone in at the time of purchase but the sales rep said its ok to bring it in later for an adjustment)!!! works 99% of the time

Had success at Bay/Dundas doing both at once. Cashier didn't even ask the manager (although it did take her 10 minutes to confirm the PM and another 10 to figure out how to enter the $30 promo). May have helped that I was there at 9:30pm, only one cashier was on duty and people were lined up behind me.
I did it with the KXTG7433 which is on sale at TS until today - so got that at $86+tax after the 110% difference and -$30.

Price match completed the day before at another location, trade-in failed today.
First rep said she couldn't do it because I already got it for a cheap price, then went off on a tangent questioning the PM and asking me for a flyer. I said I didn't have one and she said their internet was down, which was an outright lie. I asked to talk to a manager or supervisor.
I don't think the guy was either, but he gave me these reasons for denial, in this order:
1) says he couldn't do it because he thought I bought it before the promo period, on which I corrected him;
2) indicates can't combine offers and points me to the "restricted items" board, but I reply with "how is this restricted?";
3) contradicts himself by then saying I could have traded-in first, then price-matched. I said "wtf?";
4) finally says I can only apply trade-in on regular or advertised items, but I told him nowhere on the trade-in ad does it indicate that.
He repeats this last part to me later and I just said forget it because I had to get back to the office. If I had more time I could have broken him.

I bought 2 at Eglington BB after PM, and did the trade in at Dundas. Cashier didn't ask anything. Another rep even came to suggest that 2 trade ins was possible (when you can only do 1 per transaction). Too bad he got corrected!
Since the casher refunded both phones and checked them out separately (one as $50 and one as $20) I could have technically done another "transaction". :cheesygri

Within the next 24 hours, I'm expecting a bullet-proof Geek Squad car full of elite, A+ Certified vigilantes to come screeching up to my door step to repo my phones. Little do they know that I am ready for them. I have hired the extremely annoying Futureshop guy from the "Ask an Expert" box (on the FS webpage) to come and make idiotic gestures while flicking my porch light on and off (like he does in the videos) to mesmerize, confuse and (sadly, to) entertain the Geek Squad so that I can make a quick get away.

Got rejected trying this method!! This was at the BB in Richmond Hill...Stupid dumbF%^& manager giving the same BS about cant combine two offers...cant understand one is a policy other is an offer.
Spoke with a manager who had instructions from head office that the two couldn`t be combined. He supported the point as best he could but could see the holes. Ultimately, they always reserve the right to change and cancel anything without notice so any arguments one can come up with could ultimately be shot down with that.
In the end, did the price match and offered an additional $10 off after the PM price. Excellent manager to deal with, not only supporting the companies position but trying to make the best of a difficult situation.
In the end, and as always said, be polite and it`ll get you much further.

Hey don't overuse the power of JIZING!
Btw that speech with the North American Free Trade Agreement was epic, please record the facial expression change of the BB employee next time.
You definitely deserve the price match more then anybody else here.

Darn! Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait until next time. Good thing I have a mobile phone as backup.
Thanks to the OP anyway because I didn't even know BB had a trade-in program like this. How often do they run this?

they should never send you back to the original store, you can get an adjustment anywhere.
^it's just their way of trying to deny a PM
never give in to that kind of crap... LPG is a policy, not an "offer"
------
I stand corrected .. your approach should work. :o
Yes, if you start with a PM then your receipt wont show that.
And the only thing left for them is raise the "can't be applied to previous purchases" excuse.
that would actually be a legitimate reason to deny the return/repurchase if their flyer explicitly indicated that in fine print
-------
I decided to attempt the "flyer-in-hand", phased approach.
LOL... wow sounds like she had no clue WTH was going on

The double phone set was not found on the shelf at SCT, i attempted to PM and trade-in for the single phone (KXTG411T... something like that $48 on the Staples flyer, $60 at BB which would be $18 for the phone if success). The CSR told me PM is ok but the KXGT411T was not qualified for trade-in. It was bull. I didn't want to argue with her.
if you've noticed, they actually had a promo sheet showing CSRs how to process the trade-in, including model #'s and corresponding SKUs to which the promo applies to
can't vouch for "all" Panny HS systems qualify, but f/ what i saw, there were many Panny multi-HS SKUs on the list which were eligible for the trade-in
i'm not sure you'd get anywhere trying to argue w/ the CSRs/MODs if you were attempting to do the promo for single HS Panny systems
