Hello Guys,
I do apologize for this in advance if this topic has been beaten to death but I was unable to find what I am looking for in this section so I am asking you guys if you can recommend which screen protector would be best to use for my XSI LCD screen?
If you are able to post a link to where I can purchase one I would greatly appreciate that, I am also searching ebay as well but not sure which one to get that would work best. I tried Futureshop but they only have plastic ones and where I live there is no nearby camera retail store such as Henry's where I can go and get one.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

I don't use anything on my cheap body, its not worth my time. I have heard good things about the GGS protector from Deals Extreme.

i have GGS from dx, protection wise its superb... but it makes it harder to see in daylight because the protector's light reflection is quite strong

I just went to bestbuy or futureshop and bought the nintendo DS screen protector. It's really cheap. You have to cut it a bit though.

they are all the same.
With exception to really good ones called /Martin Field, they are all the same crap.
You will never tell difference between $0.99 from eBay and $10 from BB/FS.
They are all made in the same factory.
I just buy set of 20 for my phones and cameras and change them every month.
I never understood people that buy 1 protector and use it even when it's scratched like there's no tomorrow...but they are OK because the actual screen is fine. Jesus Christ, just spend $1 more and order and keep changing. That's what screen protector is for...to keep changing so that you always have clean pristine LCD. But I am bit anal about over-protecting. Not only I protected my LCD, I actually put one on top of the plastic Nikon protectors that almost every Nikon camera comes with. Lol.

You probably don't know this but the screen on your camera is scratch resistant. Only way it will scratch is if you put a hard object and really press against it and even then, with a screen protector it will still scratch.
Save yourself the money and the hassles and just use a soft cloth to clean the screen every now and then. Echoing what others have said, screen protectors also reduces the viewing capability of your screen.
I've been shooting commercially for a few years now and never had to use a screen protector and my cameras are scratches free.
With a camera, a phone, or anything with a screen, companies capitalize on people like yourself (no offense) to buy products like these. It's one accessory after another and another that you have to question, why didn't the manufacturer themselves developed these products? They designed the camera from the ground up and who better than they themselves to know the ins and outs of the camera to develop these accessories to exact specs?
Save yourself the money towards memory cards or lens, or a flash - practical things that enhances your photo taking capability. A $10 or $20 screen protector won't help you take better photos.

I bought a 2nd hand 5D which had a GGS protector on it. I ended up smashing the camera screen into something and the result was lots of broken glass! Eventually I realized their was a GGS screen protector on it that was made of glass, and that it was broken instead of the screen. I realized after the 5D screen was a piece of plastic so it probably wouldn't have shattered like that.
The end result: I don't use any screen protectors at all.

I've used the clear ones from Boxwave for my Xsi. (thicker/better quality and easier to apply while avoiding bubbles)

On my other cameras, I've also cut my own Bestskinsever. (I buy a sheet and cut it myself)

Thanks for your honest advice, I was told by the sales rep from FS that I should get one and I have seen many pros use a plastic type screen protector and I thought I should protect the screen for my camera too but if its not necessary then I will pass up on it as I already have a soft cloth in my kit that i use often.
Once again Thank you guys I really appreicate the quick replies.

I think you might have seen those on Nikon cameras, they come with them standard. All the Nikon guys I know have since taken that big piece of plastic off. It greatly reduces visibility, and that hard plastic piece is very prone to scratch at the slightest touch with anything that's hard or pointy over time. Even the simple action of pulling out of their camera case overtime creates scratches on those Nikon standard protectors.
Futureshop sales rep are on commission, they will tell you the Earth is flat and the sky is falling to sell you extended warranty on a pencil. ;-)

i don't use a screen protector for my 50D
you will lose the anti-glare functionality if you did
not to mention it's user replaceable....

The Nikon ones are pretty bad. They make the screen hard to see in direct sun, and need to be replaced very few months since a feather can scratch them.

I got one from DealExtreme for $1.49 (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.214) works great
Sorry to go kinda off-topic but what do you guys think about the snap-on covers?

When I take out my camera on sunny days, I find it hard to review shots on the LCD. Would the cover help much?

Please stop listening to FS sales reps. Just because they said that a lot of pros use screen protection (they do not), doesn't mean you have to spend more money.
That being said, I use the InvisibleShield. It's clear and does not affect the image, but does impact the screens built-in anti-glare features. I only got it because it was cheap.

Why not just cover with your hand?
You won't be able to take photos with the screen lifted, and once it's down how are you going to "chimp"? (review your photos.) :D
I don't think I'd find it useful, but then again, if you're shooting weddings, how don't really get a chance to chimp...
