This is all the info that the guy told me when I called. Sorry no flyer or anything, just word of mouth so far. However, it is in Toronto at 31 Passmore ave.
You can refer to past threads for an idea of the deals

LOL, some, thats intense. I was reading some of the past post about this... I don't need their rackets, but are there any deals on Feather Birds? Doesn't have to be Yonex, but feather deals in general. And badminton bags? Can you pm me the number you called in?
Im curious if they have stuff like, grips, strings, birds. Or if anyone remembers that would be great too. Especially if you remember the prices.
Cheers,
Thanks OP

I've been waiting for this sale. I went to the beginning of the summer sale. FYI, you can get an idea of what they carry at http://stores.channeladvisor.com/racketguy, its their online shop (note the prices are in USD).
Also, they don't have everything on display at the warehouse, if you are looking for something specific, ask them and they might have it in stock and have to bring out from storage.

Oooo... I see an Armortec 500 on their website. If that racket ever goes for under 100 at the warehouse, its a hot deal. AT500 is a great racket.

Do they sell Tennis racquet Grommets at the sale?
I previously was looking at this place but on Ebay (Racquetguy) and they said they have my grommet (Wilson K Factor 6.1 lite) in stock, which is only sold in Europe:evil:. So if they sell grommets there that means they most likely will have it at the sale, then I can save on the shipping and get more of a discount :cheesygri:cheesygri:cheesygri:twisted:

Sorry, didn't pay attention to that :(
Their clothing was "okay" priced last time, ranging from 19 to 40$. The clearnace shoes were good deals, around 30$ each pair. The regular (with sizes) shoes ranged from decent deals to cold deals. They didn't have much indoor court shoes (just the Wilson, no Yonex) last time.
They have every conceivable tennis racquet in the back, behind the curtains :P The newer stuff isn't cheap though, very small discounts.
Last time they got some highend Yonex badminton racquets, but I couldn't find ONE SINGLE AT900T 4U, though they claimed they got some... Prices were not cheap though, except for one or 2 of the YY (last time it was the NS7700 for 150), the rest are pretty much regular priced at other stores.

There wasn't much stuff for the serious badminton players. The best racquet they had for sale was probably the Armortec 500 and I don't remember what they were selling that for. They seem to carry a lot of tennis gear & equipment and running shoes.

I think I went to the Warehouse Sale last year and picked up a bag, shoes, and a Wilson K-Factor (KZero) for around a 100...not a bad deal at the time but i always buy the wrong racquet for some reason :( ...that babolat racquet does look pretty sweet though.

This sale seems so far away still. Anybody have advice on racquets that I should consider? I'm about a 3.5-4 level player and going to be taking lessons to step up my game in November and want a racquet that I can grow into. I have been looking at the K Factor's and I really like them and can hit them pretty decently but I don't know the differences between the different K Factors. Any advice/suggestions?

When I bought my tennis racquet (less than a few months ago) I went to SportingLife. They have an impressive selection of racquets (if you can get to a location in GTA). Testing a racquet is free of charge (need drivers license and CC info; they don't charge you unless you fk up their stuff). You can test as many as you want but you can only sign out 1 at a time.

Man, I need some help.
I use a Yonex Badminton racquet, Muscle Power 55, 2U grip, and BG-65 strung to a setting that was meant to be durable. ( told my stringer to just string it at a tension thats durable ) But now I have a problem, I tend to hit out a lot. Mostly 1ft or more. I find it very hard to control my power.
So just curious what string and tension you would recommend?

Hah. Nice timing. My Yonex AT250 is on for replacement for the -second- time (broken handle) and I'm bored.
I live in Montreal so I would have to order online. They have the AT500 for 99.99$ US + 11$ (shipping) + 5$ taxes... worth it?
Are there any good stores in Montreal for badminton rackets? Sports Experts == overpriced and small selection. There's Racketsports Montreal but their Yonex are Asian so they're not warranty-covered. :\

Get a friend like me from toronto... or just reach out to people in toronto, pay them a bit extra for the racket and they'll ship it to you with the 6-12month warranty.
AT500 for 100 is not a bad price... it depends on the player though. Cause I'm thinking bout selling my "new" nano speed 8000 for around 120("new" because its the old colour but it was barely used cause I don't like it and I got a 9k and mp100 an 99).
PM me if you need something from toronto. Theres plenty of second hand rackets that are newer and better than the AT500. it's not a HOT HOT deal, unless you're looking for a good starting racket.

explain why the warranty will not honored if it's an Asian version Yonex, is there an US version Yonex on all the badminton rackets ?
and what if you can buy the Asian Yonex for like $60 brand new, will you still worry about the warranty.
thx.

durability really looks at the strings and how the player hits. 20-22 is pretty fair. 22-24 is a bit stiffer but if you hit it well(no shanks) it'll last more or less the same time, argueably longer due to the fact that your strings won't loosen as quickly.
20-22 is more than enough for plastics of all kinds. If you do get stringing service, try to ask them to do a two piece or even better a one piece stringing service... The regular one is 3piece from what I've seen now, but some places do 2... and shockingly I've even seen a 4 piece... (they give you scrap strings leftover from other ones... its not bad strings but the more strings you use.. the less the tension and the worse it is.)
hope that helps. Most place won't do 1 string all around. 1 cause it's hard. 2 it takes a lot more time to do the stringing. So get a two piece.

May I ask what nylon shuttles are good, and whether i should order them online or not?
Aside: Thanks man, Im just thinking if I should spend the time to learn how to control 20lbs on my poorly strung MP55 (smashing racquet with little control), or if I should just restring it to compensate for my lack of skill, seems like the former might be a better long term solution. I totally get scrutinized by oldies when it comes down to my self-taught badminton playing with poor consistancy due to a lack of practice.
I think my racquet is 3 piece strung.

Dude, I didn't know that you played!
You need to PM me...I got hook ups for stringing and racquets. I coach and run the adult badminton program at Seneca.
Depending on the bird, 20lbs should be adequate. You should try clearing the shuttles higher instead of further back. I play on 26/28 lbs and it's literally a matter of controlling the height to get max clearance.
BTW, anyone interested in APACS racquets should give me a PM. I get hookups with APACS CANADA as well.

Yo's strings with 1 string, Maxsports I think does 2. Most places I've strung at usually do 4 knots (i.e. 2 piece).
if your strings have been strung for awhile already, might as well get it restrung, and then work on your skill.
I personally quite like the new Mavis 2000's, obviously still different to the feel of feathers, but better than the 350/300's. But it only comes in white, so that might be an issue for some ppl (my frds hate white birds, can't see them well enough in the air :P)

350 isn't necessarily better than the 300, it's really up to personal preference, but I do believe most ppl consider the 350 slightly better.
I either use the 300, 2000 or feathers. I've only recently started using feathers, but the feel really is completely different (and better, IMO).

what program at seneca? and which seneca? can people drop in and play? I don't mind driving there if people are good there. Always up to find new places to play.
As for the birdies... mavis 370s will get you the closest "feel" to feathers. And theres a whole badminton forum that gives reviews about this, and it's not on rfd hahahaha.
300 theres several types... usually green and blue capped, slow and fast respectively.
350 is a tad faster, duraiblity is less than 300 IMO.
If you want to go feathers... best to go for is Aeroplane Blacks caps.
And for the guy worried about restringing... 2 peice is fine. 22-20 or 24-22 is more than enough... and get BG-65, its the easiest to play with and the most durable.
Pm me if any of you have specific questions instead of spamming this thread =P

Just came back as well.
Not much badminton stuff...
For high end Yonex badminton racquet (to the best of my memory :o):
At700 $160ish
At900P, At 900T, NS9000X, NS9000S, and Arc9 are $199ish
Arc10 is $216
The best deal in my opinion is the At500 at $101.
Most of the Wilson and Head and Dunlop racquet bags are from $22-$48.
They have mix of tennis and indoor court shoes selling from $30-$80.
Can't comment about the tennis racquet as the place is very crowded.
You can find some good deals on tennis balls (can't remember the price but they are located at the cashier room.
That's my report for today.

Thanks for info!! Bag prices sounds okay. Not best deal as SL sold red Wilson k tour bag for 30. But no one saw if they had any tennis grommets? That is really my reason to goto the sale lol.

Dropped by at 4pm and there were around 30 people lined up outside. Didn't look like the line was moving so I left.
I did want to grab some grips and a load of tennis balls though.

I didn't see any grommets but if you ask them they probably had them in the back but best bet would to call ahead before. Number is on the flyer.

I went and waited about 20 mins outside. Got in and there were lots of stuff and people, but I personally didn't get anything. They indeed did have my grommet for my K 6.1 Lite in the back :cheesygri but cost $9.99 :(. So the guy was helpful and told me to order online cause it is 4.49USD + $8 shipping (for up to 12 things) which benefits more and cheaper.
They had wilson overgrip(black) and Prince Replacement grip priced at 4 something, lots of shoes for $30. Tons of racquets not that cheap though.

Oh forgot to mention there is a $10 coupon for stringing service when you buy a racquet upon check out.
This is apparently only applicable to tennis racquets. Purchased a badminton racquet and they refused to offer the discount.

Did anyone see any Prince (Speedport Black) or Yonex (RDis 100 MP) Tennis Racquets?
Did they also have any strings on sale?
Might go next week, and hopefully they'll get new stock if not.
For Yonex they only had the RQiS-1 Tour - it was ~$115.
For the other tennis racquets, I only wanted to pick up the rqis-1, so I didn't look too hard at the other racquets, but they had Wilsons (lots), Babolats (pure drive roddick and pure drive cortex), heads (microgel radical and prestige and a crossbow, maybe some others) and an adidas (barricade maybe).
For strings they had gamma synthetic gut, head intellitour and ripcontrol i think, and a kirschbaum spiky shark.

The Yonex RQiS-1 Tour was $119.47 + tax. I know cause I got one and some strings as well. They also had the Yonex RQiS-1 Tour Light. I was hoping for more Yonex tennis stuff . . but yeah, pretty decent sale. When I went I caught the line up early so I only waited about 20mins or so to get in. Might go back next week just to check out whats left xD

Lol, I just got a bunch of the Head FXP Power. One of the guys there said it had a pretty good feel to it but less durability and is good if your not hybrid stringing (using two differnt strings) your racquet. And yeah selection wasnt that great. I wanted to buy the red strings there just cause they would look cool, but I didnt. Haha.

hahah I saw those "cherry" strings too. I saw a whole bunch of Chinese people grabbing a bunch of those Head strings, I personally didn't know if they were good or not so I didn't pick up any.

Yeah, I just got them cause I needed to string my Head Flexpoint Speed. Strings broke awhile ago and Ive wanted to order online but never got around to it. Us chinese people will grab up anything that we are told is good and also at a cheap price. I seen a lady with one of the last Head bags which hold like 6 racquets and one of the workers were like "Id hold onto that if I were you, its the last one" and she replied "I know, but I dont even have a racquet yet and this bag seems manly but its the last one and you say its good" I seen her ending up gettin a Wilson Ncode along with the bag. xD

Yeah I ended up getting one of those Head bags for $35. There is room for everything in seperate compartments. I like it a lot. I also picked up a Wilson Kobra tour prestrung demo (brand new) for $97. I was very happy with the sale. I might go back and get a Wilson FX tour for $127.

Not sure, but when I asked one of the sales people they said they will restock, so probably if you go early or something they should have it. I seen alot of bags so I didnt really pay attention to any in particular.

The reels they had were the same brands as the individual packages. I think I remember seeing some head synt. gut & control, gamma asterisk, Kirschbaum pro line II and super smash spiky and some live wire too. Cant guarantee types for sure but I know those brands of reels were there for sure. Hope that helps.

You got the Yonex nanospeed RQ8 right? That was the only other Yonex they had besides the RQiS 1 Tour on Sat. Tell me how it plays xD Ive used the RQ 5 alot and I love it but I hesitated to buy the RQ8 cause of its 110 oversize. Btw, how much was it?

Hey Everyone,
Someone posted Nov 6-8, but the sale is actually only Saturday Nov 7 and Sunday Nov 8 from 9-5. I just went there but they were still setting up. They were very nice and answered some of my questions. They received some more inventory this week including some nice Yonex badminton racquets, bags, and indoor shoes.

Hmmm... The Email on the flyer says racketguy@racquetguys.com, their store's Ebay username is racketguy and your username is racketguy... I wonder who you are...
But, still nice to know that restocked inventory. Anyone else going tomorrow?

hey, will there be different kinds of tennis ball this week? penn pro or wilson?
the yellow and orange ball wasn't too appealing. and I haven't used head tennis balls and didn't want to experiment.

Just came back,
on the tennis side there's nothing *new* from last week except this Wilson H2Overgrip (this pic is black, it's actually the white one)
http://www.badmintonalley.com/v/vspfiles/photos/GRIP-WILSON-H2Overgrip-2.jpg
Also if you're a men's shoe size 10.5 or 11, there are still some $30 tennis shoes left (models like Serve and Return II, Out Aced)
Tennis balls are still the PENN TWO TONE CHAMPIONSHIP and HEAD ATP
All in all, I thought this was a pretty good sale. I picked up a tennis bag (the orange Head Radical that got sold out within a day lol), tennis shoes and tennis balls. THANKS OP!!!!!
