This is going to be expensive.

Im going to guess $7000-7500, right in between the D3 and D3x.

New lens announced second ago. Man...NikonRumors is correct again! They really do have insiders

http://nikonrumors.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/pic_001-2.jpg

* Medium-telephoto 85mm Micro lens (picture angle is equivalent to a focal length of 127.5mm in FX/35mm format)
* Closest focusing distance of 0.286 m/0.9 ft. (1:1 life size)
* The optical system featuring an ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element is optimized for DX-format digital SLRs
* Vibration Reduction (VR II) enables sharper pictures while shooting at shutter speeds up to four stops slower than would otherwise be possible
* Silent Wave Motor (SWM) ensures fast, quiet AF operation
* Two focus modes available — M/A and M
* IF (Internal Focusing) enables focusing without changing the length of lens barrel
* The nine-blade rounded diaphragm opening gives out-of-focus elements a more natural appearance

Wooo!

I'll like to see more primes for DX as some of us just can't justify spending the extra $$ to jump to full frame.

Edit: Just read the specs, should be noted that 11 fps is for DX-sized photos only, at full frame its still only capable of up to 9 fps. But ISO 12800 as standard!!! Sweet Jeebus!! I really like that Nikon isn't falling into the "more-megapixels" mentality, I think 12.1 MP is more then enough and I would say the excellent high ISO performance is more useful.

That's what the D3X is for...

Why an 85mm micro when there's a very well-regarded 105mm micro that also does 1:1 ? I see the 85mm has VRII, but most people who do macro could care less about VR.

I want one... I show a concert yesterday with a f/1.8 lens and I had to go to ISO3200 and 1/50 shutterspeed to get respectable yet still underexposed shots... The lighting was awful.
