I'll have to go check out the $50 mail in rebate.
If you can combine $50 and $25 with Costco's $60 off (4 tires), its a pretty decent deal.

By the way, there is also rebate in US - $70 for set of 4 tires

The $50 and $25 can be stacked for sure for a total of $75 minimum.
I got this email because I purchased some 225 55 r18 Michelin HydroEdges a few years ago and I would buy again. Great all-season tire with ridiculous treadwear rating. A little on the noisy side because of the hard compound, but decent in snow.
FWIW I bought some Kumhos from the USA this summer and Kumho Canada honoured the rebate. Of course that's a huge YMMV.

What about the part that says this coupon has a unique code that can only be used once. How can everyone here use that same coupon then? Won't they all end up being rejected?

Just enter a different 5 digits at the end of the link for your own "unique" code. As long as you don't buy from 1010tires.com, you'll save a bunch. A bunch of time, effort, and money as 1010tire''s service and prices are horrendous.

$169 is just the tire, then there is $15 installation charge, environmental tax, gst, pst.
$15 credit per tire but this does not reduce your taxes.

I'm a bit skeptical myself about actually receiving the $25 rebate by simply changing the numbers at the end of the link. I'd imagined everyone who's received a legit offer from Michelin would have a unique code that is registered to a database somewhere, so they'd probably double check before mailing out the $25 cheques.
So I went here:
http://www.michelinpromo.ca/
At the Bottom, it says, "Contact". I sent them an E-mail asking to be added on their list, and for any coupons they would have as I'm looking to buy too.

Hello everyone,
I found the following link from Michelin that explains that you can combine the $50 current rebate and the $25 Friends rebate together. See the following link;
http://media.ie.connectusdirect.com/NURUN_Michelin/2009-10_FAQ-en.html
I contacted the Michelin customer service and found out that you can combine the $25 rebate coupon with the Costco deal of $60 off!! A total savings of $85 of a set of 4 tires!!
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

"The "Friends of Michelin "$25. Rebate is a promotion that an employee of
Michelin has and they can share with their friends.

The Michelin website still says Nov 21 as the last day for qualifying purchases. Maybe the dealer meant that you have until Dec 18 to postmark the rebate?
On a related note I just received an email stating that they had received my rebate.
"Dear Michelin client your claim for the $75 mail-in rebate has been processed and you are in our database. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of your mail-in rebate."
I find it strange that it says $75 because I sent in the additional $25 rebate several weeks after the $50 one. Unless they somehow received my $25 rebate in time and linked it to the $50 one. Oh well we'll know in a few weeks.

I don't quite remember 1-2 weeks maybe, they send it out from St. Laurent, QC. I don't think sending them separately will be a problem as you have until Dec 18th to postmark it.

I'm confused, or perhaps you are. My interpretation is that jjjjjj meant that he got an inhouse instant rebate of $60 and can now also apply for the manufacturer rebate of $50 (They have $60 inhouse instant rebate plus the Michilen rebate.). Plus I guess the $25 if he does the quiz. So it's not like he was eligible for $75 and only got $60. $60+$50+$25 = $135!

^ well i am from BC, so Simplytire.com to me is an 'online purchase', and not a retail purchase.
i emailed Michelin and got this:
My question: Will buying a set of 4 Michelin tires from online retail store qualify
for the mail in rebate?
response:
The rebate would only apply if the tires were purchased in Canada.
and from the Michelin FAQ:
Where can I buy MICHELIN® tires to take advantage of the $50 National consumer promotion?
You can buy MICHELIN® tires at any participating authorized MICHELIN® dealer.
so it seems like the promotion is apply for authorized dealer (retail only?)
and when i searched up authorized dealer with simplytire's postal code M3J 2C6, they did NOT come up as authorized dealer.

icqboy51, can you provide a link to the FAQ you mentioned? I can't seem to find it.
In post #57 member jjjjjj mentioned that Markham Honda is a confirmed authorized dealer yet when I enter their postal code on Michelin's site they don't show up so I'm not sure how reliable Michelin's dealer locator is. I just sent Michelin a e-mail about Simply Tire, I'll wait to see what they say.

I don't think the Michelin's dealer locator can include all qualify retailers.
You should be qualified for the $50 rebate as long as your Michelin tires purchase from a retailers within Canada except costco, ct and chrysler.
Markham Honda told me they are qualified for the rebate and of course I call Michelin to double check.

You can send them in separately if you like. You'll just receive two cheques instead of one.
I would much rather do it as one. Less chance of something screwing up that way. I find with rebates you have to make it as easy as possible to actually get them.

I still haven't receive my $25 coupon but I already send my $50 rebate form.
I check status and my name already on their database. http://www.michelinpromo.ca/verifycoupon_oct.php
According to the Michelin : When you verify the status and your name appears in our database, this means we have received your coupon and your Mail-In Rebate will be soon sent to you by mail ( please allow 4 to 6 weeks ).
I don't know how's this work for the $25 coupon but I assume it will be processed base on their database.
Can someone let me know if the $25 coupon either name specific/ code specific or generic please ?

I found out that if you complete the Winter Driving Academy quiz on the Michelin website they will physically mail you a certificate signifying your completion of the quiz and a $25 rebate form. I sent this in, separately, in addition to the original $50 rebate form. Link below.

Thanks to Samster and OP! I completed the online quiz about two weeks ago and received the $25 rebate as well. Great job.

^ simplytire was my 2nd choice to buy from. they responded quick to my emails on price quotes. but its just that i am located in BC, so tiretrends.com is a better choice for me.
it seems the Hydroedges are all OUT OF STOCK everywhere! so my purchase is currently back ordered @ tiretrends.com ... damn.
I checked CDN tire, local dealership, etc all out of stock. oh well, as long as i ordered the tires and get the invoice, then i can mail in the MIR.
any1 have experience with tire back orders? usually how long do people have to wait to get their purchases?

Just a heads up. Are you running the hydroedge in the winter. If so you might want to know they don't do well at all in snow or ice but are great for the other 3 seasons. The Harmony is a better 4 season tire...much better in the winter months

Actually just got a set on my wifes car in the H rated. From the reviews and testing on tire rack and consumers report they are the highest rated all season H rated tire for the 4 seasons. Very smooth and quiet. My wife actually made a comment about the speed she was going and didn't even realize.

I actually just had them installed at a Costco in Michigan and like you mentioned saved a bundle. Saved $200 after factoring in exchange and gas plus picked up a few other things during our day trip. I looked at the tires and they are made in Canada. You still get the full tire package from Costco including road hazard, free rotations/balance here in Canada.
Rebate of $70 ends Dec 20 in the U.S. Make sure they have your size in before heading out. They were kind enough to order the size I needed and had them on hand when I went down.

On tirerack.com the hydroedges' rating on wet snow/ ice is lower compare to other tires. but high rating on other aspects.
i am over at the West Canada here, we dont get that much snow so hopefully the hydroedge is enough to handle the winter in the West.
by the way, any more people who did the Michelin winter quiz and got their $ 25 bonus MIR in the mail?? if so please post here of when you did the quiz. thanx!

I thnk the Canadian Costco one has expired?
What are the current manufacturer coupons from Michelin (Canada/U.S)?

My tires were 215/60/16 H rated (142 a tire). The install is 14 each tire + 1 disposal. Tax was 6%. Total came to $598. I used my Costco Amex and basically get 4% back (2% excecutive + 2% Amex). Price here was $859 with rebate which is now over.
