A few things to mention:
- It's the same price at BB (regular price)
- Similar specs to the HP Mini 110-1030CA at a premium price
- Smaller HDD than the Mini 110-1030CA
- "Vivienne Tam" name and colour treatment = premium price
- Mini 110-1030CA goes on sale for $329.99 or less, on a regular basis
- Other brand netbooks to be had with better specs for same price or less
Anyone else care to contribute to the list?

If I was a girl, I would get this right away. :D
$800 is a bit much, but $399 is ok for this netbook.
From what I have seen, they sell out in stores pretty quickly. While it is on the BB website for the same price, it is sold out. While true it is pricier for a regular netbook, it is unique and pretty.

The new mini 110 was on sale at bestbuy for $299 all last week. Some older threads suggest prices as low as $250.
Mini 110 Pros:
2.5" 5400 rpm hard drive (can be easily swapped for a ssd/faster drive)
Integrated VGA port
3 USB Ports
Cons:
Thicker! Way thicker when you compare the 1000 side by side. The 110 loses it's sexyness in my opinon.
By the way, the newer HP 311's with Nvidia ION are due out soon. However the price tag will be up there, into notebook territory.

Damn my life - my girlfriend saw this here and now wants it for her birthday..
*Quickly changes number*
But seriously - it is unique, and girls do dig it.
Asus 1005 crushes this though.

Remember these units use a 60GB 4200rpm ZIF PATA 1.8" HDD. It's very hard to find a SSD replacement in Canada.

firstly its on sale at BB which is why its at this price, secondly its sold out, which is why Amazon is a great alternative.

So apart from the engraving, whats so special about this, when I can get the 1005HA premium with N280 for the same price?

Yep, and the stock hdd is very slow. It gets annoyingly slow. Replacing with a Runcore SSD is still too expensive imo, relative to the cost of the netbook.

My mistake; pick it up in store whee possible. It's a lower spec'ed, glorified netbook at a premium price.
Decent enough price if anyone is willing to take form over function.

It was originally advertised as a clutch (purse). It's completely meant to be taken form first before function.

Also, they announced a new one recently. Gold and butterflies.

Aren't these things a bit too heavy and too slippery to carry like a purse?
