I am considering getting a QUINNY BUZZ 4 (2009) version, does anyone have one? EXPERIENCES?

I got mine from the States early Jan. I took my daughter stroller shopping when she was 5 months old, from all the other comparable strollers, the quinny was the only one she felt comfortable in. So when the new Buzz 4 (2009) came out in the States, we just went for it and bought it online. One great thing about it is that it has an "automatic" locking system. Whereas in the previous, you have to pull on this thing and use a lot of effort in order to lock it. I hear it must be locked otherwise the stroller will unfold itself when the car hits a bump.
Another good thing about it is that you could fold it down with the seat attached to the frame. But the seat must to be in a CERTAIN position in order for you to do so. (facing outwards).
It comes with two seat covers. One that is summer and one for winter. I find the one for summer is slightly bigger so the buzz 4 will go further with an older child. It also comes with rain cover, bug screen, the adapters for the infant carseats.
What it does't include are the bassinet, cup holder, that bag with the zipper (I forgot what it's called) but it does come with a tray.
In my opinion, the down side to this stroller is that it IS pretty heavy. And when the baby is facing backwards, the baby cannot be seated in a upright position. Unlike the bugaboo. And even though the seat is pretty high from the ground compare to some strollers, the seat is still pretty low compare to the stroller by stokke. (My kid loves to be higher up. So for a while she was more content inside the baby carrier than the stroller.)
For me, I had to order it online and then drive all the way down to Buffalo to pick it up. haha...with the added cost, it ended up to be quite pricey.
All in all, we like it a lot. No regrets what so ever. My baby girl is starting to ask to be put in the stroller now since she could no longer go on the baby carrier.
Hope this helps.

Thank you soooo much! That was a great review and I appreciate it sooo much! I kinda purchased one (when I say KINDA I mean I purchased it and haven't told my husband yet...lol). I did alot of research online and decided we would give this a try (My daughter is 4 months old and we have already had 4 strollers! Firstwheels City Elite, Peg Perego UNO, Maclaren Quest and a UPPA Baby- the only one I kept was the Maclaren Quest). I think I am turning into one of those crazy people that have to try every stroller on the market...for some reason I have no interest in these bugaboos *like 90% of the parents in my neighbourhood*
Okay so I am pretty excited now to get ours...and your review seems to be the same as what I've read. Its heavy with no storage- but I like the idea of one seat until they grow up to use the XL seat (I heard ppl were complaining about the cushy seat being too small so Quinny made the "other" seat to accomodate larger kids (says 18+months but I think my baby will be in there sooner).
Thank you again for such a great, in depth, review :-) GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Have you had problems with the tires wearing out quickly? puntured inner tubes? tire/tube replacements? *i've read its a problem on the older buzz's*
You mentioned it comes with a tray? exactly what kind of tray are you talking about? *not really sure*

We purchased the buzz 4, brand new in the box from someone on craigslist who had purchased it in the states. We saw the demo of the buzz 3 in BabiesRus and my wife loved the hydraulic system. However, when it was demo'ed to us there were a few things that were not communicated to us. First off, the hydraulic system on the demo model did not have a lock so the quinny rep did not have to bend down to unlock the stroller. She just lifted it up slightly with her toes and it popped up on it's own. The Buzz 4 has a lock on the handle so you have to physicallly bend down and unlock it before the hydrualic will be engaged....kind of defeats the purpose. Secondly, the basket underneath is not practical, it is too small to hold much and sometimes touches the ground if you load it up too much. Lastly, my wife had a difficult time in the beginning to fit the car seat onto the stroller as there are no guides to lock the seat into place. You may have to practice this several times before you get comfortable. I would suggest you go into BabiesRus and try it for yourself (the Maxi Cosi Mico seat will fit). Overall, we are happy with the stroller. The pluses are that it is stylish, comfortable for our baby, easy to maneuver, and not as bulky and heavy as cheaper strollers. Hope this helps!

One more thing if anyone is considering buying this stroller in the US. As our stroller was certified for sale in the US, we emailed Quinny to confirm that a Canadian car seat (Maxi Cosi Mico in this case) would fit our US stroller. Quinny's response is that it absolutely would not fit the stroller. However, we read online from other Canadians that there is no compatibility issue and that the seat would fit. Sure enough, the seat locks into place perfectly.

thank you SKETTY55....your review is much appreciated :-) I guess there are more pros to cons about this stroller....realistically I use my maclaren quest, as a lightweight stroller, and want a heavier walking stroller. I need something that will be comfy going over cobblestone/uneven roads (moving to europe) so by the sounds of it this fits the bill :-) after having all the strollers I've had I'm looking for something stylish, higher up, with large wheels to keep my daughters ride comfortable.
I'm not surprised about QUINNY saying the CANADIAN carseat won't fit the US version....just another way to get the units sold here in Canada
I just purchased mine from the US....fingers crossed its a good one :-)
thank you both for your great reviews

LOL...I like the way you say you "kinda" bought it. Please let me know how your husband finds out the surprise! =P
To be honest, I haven't used the stroller enough to see the tires wearing out. I use for 1-2 hour walks on normal pavement and gravel roads once in a while. But I go for these longs walks once a week during the summer time. The other times I use it in doors. Sorry can't really help you much here.
In terms of the tray, it is a shallow, triangular-shaped tray that is underneath the stroller seat. (http://www.toysrus.co.uk/medias/sys_master/8609558654734976.jpg Here's a picture of what it looks like ). It's true that this tray does touch the ground when there are too much in it. And when you collapse the stroller the bottom of the tray is touching the floor. (I forgot to mention that). I got over that though, when I see my baby playing inside the stroller instead of crying her heart out.
All the best with your new stroller!

I'm also looking at purchasing a Quinny Buzz. To those that purchased it in the US, where did you purchase it from? I was in buffalo a few weeks ago looking at strollers and I couldn't find a retailer selling one.

I purchased mine online (ebay) for $419 USD plus $29 shipping I believe....I asked that it be shipped via USPS (for some reason I manage not to get dinged on customs and duty -OMG I totally jinxed myself now!!). So I think with conversion on my CC it came to $48X.00 CAD...better than the $599+tax I see everywhere. So fingers crossed, my stroller should be here in the next two weeks- hopefully DUTY FREE *fingers crossed* I'll update accordingly

AnnaBanana, many people don't need much storage, such as myself, with specific strollers. This is just a walking stroller for me, we'll be in europe where we'll basically be walking around the city with friends and family. All I need to carry are a few diapers/wipes, a bottle or two and my wallet...
The joys of living a *less* stressful life :cheesygri

Has the stroller arrived yet...any extra charges? Mine shipped on Wednesday....based on your purchase price it sounds like we both purchased from the same seller. I have my fingers crossed for the duty/tax charges! I went with strawberry and I added the Buzz box.

Hi there, yes the stroller arrived on wednesday and its beau-ti-ful! I also ended up going with the strawberry colour :-) Ths stroller is pretty thick, as in, its a sturdy strong stroller. It is quite heavy but let me tell you this: the second my baby daughter got into the cushiony seat she was all smiles! She even loves sleeping in it...its sooo soft and squishy! She loves being a little higher up and being able to look all around (compared to her Maclaren Quest- which I love because its sooo light and easy to use). I am going overseas for a while so I had to buy some extras and I scored BIGTIME on craigslist with some accessories. I managed to get, brand new, a BUZZ BOX (reg.$49.99) and a cup holder (reg.$19.99) BOTH for $35 cash!! Then she sold me a brand new Quinny travel bag for $100 cash (I need this as we travel around europe ALOT-airplanes). The travel bag alone is $169.99 USD so the girl that sold me all the stuff is my new bestfriend!
Ohhh and the best part about my stroller: DRUM ROLL: I DIDN'T EVEN GET TAXED!!!! NOTHING!!!! It was inspected by customs, they even tore a hole in the box and taped it but still no extra $$$. I was expecting to pay something when I went to pick it up from Canada post- when the girl pointed at the box I looked at my husband and gave him the "PICK IT UP AND RUN" face....like the ikea "start the car" commercials....I thought they made a mistake with not charging me duty/taxes. As long as you got it shipped with USPS you should be fine :-)
Please post your thoughts/review on here, I'd love to know what you think of your stroller. I have used it for the last few days and EVERYTIME and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME, someone has commented on my stroller or asked "where did you get such a cool looking stroller?"....
As for storage, the bottom tray and buzz box are more than enough for me and baby essentials ;-)
*read the instructions before you assemble just so you don't damage the chassis (I read online there were people that opened the chassis without the tires on and it damaged the stroller?)
GOOD LUCK! and congrats on a nice stroller :-)

Hey! I would love to get those accessories too! I'll look them up on craiglist, hopefully I'll be lucky enough to find them! I'm so glad you daughter love the stroller. (it seems like your husband is fine with your secret purchase!)
Enjoy your trip!

I find that the Buzz 4 is the best bang for the buck, if you don't need a bassinet. The accessories for it is not as expensive as the Bugaboo's either (though they are hard to find in Toronto, unless you go online). My husband and I did a lot of research and we finally decided on the Buzz 4 because it was the lightest stroller and infant seat combo and that it also has great manoeverability - a very important thing to consider especially if you take the stroller outside the mall and onto the city streets.
Also, the automatic unfolding makes things a lot easier. It really speeds up the process of setting up the stroller and loading the baby in. I got the original Buzz 4 and my only complaints with it are that folding it can be a little tough, as we have to push it down to lock it into place - a tough task after a c-section; and my other complaint is that the shopping tray is a little small so you may want to consider getting the Buzz Box to go along with it.
I hope this helps!
