Go with WD, even if you have to pay a little more

Bought the 1.5 TB on Friday myself and am very pleased with it. I thought the cash/debit price of $119 was very good.

If it was for the same size and it was a choice between Seagate and WD I would also pay the extra for WD because I have heard and read way too many horror stories about Seagate drives failing. I've never had any problems with either and I did have 2x1tb Seagate drives in my server and the clunking and clicking noises left much to be desired. Even though they didn't fail on me or in the current HTPC I've built for someone I feel much more comfortable now that they have been replaced with WDs.
Between 1tb vs 1.5tb I would again pay the extra that way in the long run I could probably save some SATA ports for future expansion. I just recently swapped out all of my 1tb drives to 1.5tb and my next step in the future would be to phase out the 1.5tb with 2tb drives when their prices come down to the $120-140 marks.

1) Always pick WD over Seagate even if it costs more.
2) Stay away from any kind of "Green" drives which spin at less 7200rpm. Those are only useful NAS builds, and even then I still argue otherwise.
3) Get a WD Caviar Black series drive.
