I was just out grocery shopping at SuperStore and noticed they had a good amount of slim PS2's in stock priced at $58.something.
I almost bought one to replace my full sized PS2 but figured there was not much sense as I don't use it much at all.
I did not see that anyone has discovered this yet doing a quick search, sorry if this has been posted already. I know Walmart has sold out quickly locally on this system so here is a chance for people to buy at an alternative location.

I saw a few XBOX360 Arcades at the 51st Ave Superstore in Edmonton for $148.XX. I know that this unit sold out fairly quickly at the local Walmarts as well. They did indeed have the PS2 Slim for $58.XX on sale there as well as Wii Nunchuks for $14.XX plus tax. I figure they were probably price-matching Walmart on their sale.

They did have black and silvers side by side. I did not take notice if there were different prices but it looked like both were selling for the $58.

Do the silver units have an advantage over black for any reason?

nice... i know where i'm calling around tom. :D

seeing that it seems like BB has PMed WM's anniv. sale price, don't forget the SPC BB $10off50 coupon (if you have one)... $50 = hot... =)

too bad it isn't listed online... would've been convenient to check for ISPU

thx... i guess RCSS will be my last resort if i can't find it at BB...

looks better IMHO

i'm not sure if it has any special advantage feature-wise over the matte-black version

i thought bestbuy/fs didnt carry ps2s anymore

FS/BB.ca no longer lists it but that doesn't necessarily mean they don't carry it instore

it would be because RCSS is trying to match & beat any competitors prices around town; this has been around for about 2 yrs now

I noticed RCSS has been doing this (PM Walmart) for quite sometime... e.g. Pringles were 4/$5 last week, RCSS had it for $1.24 (limit 4) at the same time... there are probably countless examples as this has been happening EVERY WEEK since the Walmart in Vancouver opened (every time its just a few cents cheaper).

RCSS proudly advertises "We Match" with assorted competitive flyers pinned up.

However, I'm starting to think that this maybe the new price for the PS2; especially with BB & FS hopping onto the sub $60 band wagon.

they PM all the stores around certain locations; Thrifty Foods was selling 10lb potatoes for $2.98, RCSS in my area matched it, where as the one in Metrotown was selling the original price

As for finding the $59.99 PS2 at BB, I can't even find the Playstation 2 console on the Best Buy website.
