I did a search and found no mention about this sale.

DELL 3007WFP-HC is on sale now for $1099. The lowest price was $900 3 months ago on their DOD. This item does not go on sale as often as the other models.

I talked with 2 different CSR before placing my order of the 3007. When I asked if I can get a further discount, the first CSR refused to try to ask her manager. She said any CSR who try to do that will get fired. I told her that I have successfully done that before. And her reply was that both the CSR and the manager should get fired because its against the company policy. Clearly, I refused to order through her. So I call again. This time, the CSR is much nicer and did a slight discount for me. I am not sure if I should disclose the amount because I am afraid he will get "fired".

So... don't be shy to ask for a discount of a already discounted item.

On another note, the 2709W was previously on sale for $650. Today they reduced the discount and change the final price to $750.

Not bad... there have been sales at 899.99 and 999.99 but that was in the past and this is a decent price on the 3007. I got mine at the $1K price back in Oct 08.

Yeah the lowest price on that model was 549.99, $650 is not too shabby.

Still kind of surprised these haven't really gone way below $1000 by now. Guess 30inch monitors aren't really in demand.

no SDHC? No HDMI? :(

Its a bare-bone 30" with minimum connectors for budget buyers like me. It also has lower lag (according to what other said) than more expensive models, which is supposed to be good for competitive gaming.

I paid around $1168 tax included (about $1022 before GST, PST, and monitor tax) after asking the CSR to further lowering the price for me. :) YMMV.

It's a superior monitor for gamers, compared to the 3008.

but with 3008 you can hook up pretty much everything
dont think there are many ppl whos willing to spend more than $1000
on a monitor without HDMI input

I disagree and think there are be a lot of people looking for a 30" monitor with a single connection.

I have an LCD tv already, and I only want a higher resolution monitor, for use as, you guessed it! - a monitor. I don't need to hook up anything else.

There is a reason the 3008 and the 3007 exist. Get the 3008 if you need the flexibility. On the other hand, I'm happy to save some money and get the 3007 instead as I already have a bigger panel designed for multimedia; it's called an LCD tv.

+1
Usually, people buy a $1000 30" "computer monitor" (non-TV) for professional work. HDMI connection is usually not needed. You can get a 30" TV for much cheaper price. This monitor has higher resolution than a 1080p TV. And its easier to calibrate a monitor than a TV for accurate colours.

I also disagree with the griping over lack of features. The 3008 does have lots more features like Displayport and HDMI, cardreader but it costs hundreds more and I don't need any of that crap!

I want to pay for the panel only and yes it costs a fortune because even 60"+ TVs have lower resolution. Dell is offering the best of both worlds with the 2 models

The Samsung 305T is similar IIRC, no extras, just huge resolution glory. Also if this ever was offered at $799 I think my next rent cheque would be at high risk....

All those extra display options are the cause of increased input lag, which gamers hate. So as a few others have said already, most gamers that are looking for this panel do not care about no hdmi, etc.

Yeah, the 305T has a lot more input lag. Its a good thing I checked that out and waiting for this deal. Not only is this cheaper than the 305T right now, it has a lot less input lag.

This panel averages about 12 ms (with minimum of 0!!)

Compare that to the 3008 which is 47 ms of input lag.
