This is the stripped down version of the more common PN42B450. Great if you only plan on a basic setup.
This is the lowest price it has reached to my knowledge.
If you are not in southern ontario, this should be PM able at Sears, visions, 2001 audio video.

Visions also carries this model for those out west.
With their 5% Price Guarantee, this should come out in the mid $600's.

How is this TV for a basic TV? I don't plan to go crazy with Sony PS3 / Blueray (at least not yet)

It is almost identical to the B450, except that it is missing some connections.
I believe it has 2 HDMI, 2 Component, 1 composite. No PC plug. It may also be missing the filterbright anti reflection coating, but that could be a misprint.
Otherwise it seems to have the same PQ and other features.

I don't know if my previous answer really answered your question, if you are not that familiar with the Samsung B450.
The short answer is good.
Color accuracy is excellent, black level good, signal processing good as well.

The 42B450 is now available at BB for $749 - $20 with coupon for $729.
Possibly $679 and free delivery if you can get the Flat Panel In Stock Guarantee for -$50 and FS. YMMV though.

Sears will likely be the easiest price match. It has been reported that in a lot of cases they don't even call to check for availability.
BTW this is the last day.

Thanks for the feedback.
In some other situations, people have reported that they were refused a Gibby's PM at BB and there were no problems at Sears.

At first they wanted to do only 50% of the PM, ($799 to $749), then he asked to see the PM policy so they just matched it to the $699 angrily without giving the 10% of the difference.

They don't have to like it as long as they do it, I guess.
Here's the Sears PM policy.

Forgive the possibly newbie question, but has anyone successfully PM'ed Sears for a price from Gibby's in areas where there isn't a Gibbys ? I'm located in Newfoundland, where there is no BB available, and FF don't seem to carry the Samsung 720p plasmas. Being able to PM at Sears would save me a lot over the current price (of the B450) at Costco. I'm looking to buy next weekend.
The Sears PM policy, linked above, seems a bit contradictory - first stating that "the advertisement must pertain to the same geographic area", but then says
"Canadian website prices as offered by comparable competitors will be honoured when accompanied by a printout of the current website advertisement".

Just try it and let us know. From my experiences, the stores outside of the major cities PM much more easily and they employees are more friendly in general so there's a chance that you could get them PM'ed. I PM'ed some speakers in FS Ottawa and the nearest store was in TO and apparently Sears is easier to PM at so who knows.

Your odds are good. I recall someone in Quebec getting Sears to PM Gibby's.

In order to PM at Sears,
1. Order at Sears.com
2. Print the price at Gibby's web page.
3. Pick up at one of Sears.
4. Show the print and ask for PM.
Am I correct?
BTW, the price of the product at Gibby's is changing so frequently.

I'm looking for something this size and price for my dad for Christmas.
I presume there'll be better pricing come Boxing Day?

Yeah up and down all the time for some reason. Almost always lowest on the weekend though, if you want to PM.
Forgot to add that they have raised it to $769 at the moment.

Should be, but not necessarily on the model that you want. With the trend these days for the major retailers to bring in mystery models for the loss leaders on boxing day. Suddenly there is a PN42B420? model in the Boxing Day flyer, a model that is not heard of before or after that sale. Samsung did that last year with the 42" plasmas.
If you are looking to get some other equipment, like a bluray or HT etc. You could do the B450 deal at BB $799 w/$50 gift card free, less $20 coupon or add $210 worth of stuff and use the coupon for $100 off $1000.
If you can get the Flat Panel In Stock Guarantee from them with the rest of the offers, you could get an extra $50 off and free delivery. That would likely be as good as any potential boxing day deal that you could get on the 42" Samsung plasmas IMO.

I have never purchased from E-Outlet before, but here would be my concerns for a major purchase like a TV. Condition of the display, is it going to be pristine as new, or a little rough around the edges?
Warranty, is it Samsung? If not who does the work and how long will they take? Likely no return/exchange priviledges.
In my opinion, unless you are saving a significant amount of money, I would get one new, that you can take back if you have issues, or just don't like after living with it for a while. I would expect the 42B450 to get back to the low $700 range again soon, with cp and discounts. I was actually suprised that Gibby's raised the price on the 42B430 this week, too. I would expect it back at $699, soon too.
