Not knowing if this is hot, but I got these two items from Visions in-store today.
The LCD TV is also available online:
http://www2.visions.ca/catalogue/category/Details.aspx?menuId=2&categoryId=14&productId=2517

But the model number is different: the online one is LN40A530.

In-store staff said it is for sale on these two days only.

I'm in the market for a good pricing but decent quality LCD TV for tv and gaming on the xbox 360. The price seems like a good deal, but I'm not to savvy about LCD Tv's. Is this a decent model? Seems like all the newer tv's are at 120 or 160hz for at like twice the price.

I paid $848 for this TV during boxing week sale at The Brick so IMO $794 is a very good price.

We are very happy with ours.

Hmm. When I went there, they were sold out of LN40A530, but said they had the newer model they can sell me LN40B530 for $888..

What's the difference between LN40A530 and LN40B530?

Thanks

Not very sure about the difference, but it seems LN40A530 is a rare model now.

I did not find A model on Samsung's website, but found the B model:
http://www2.visions.ca/catalogue/category/Details.aspx?menuId=2&categoryId=14&productId=2517

Visions has the A model specs here:
http://www2.visions.ca/catalogue/category/Details.aspx?menuId=2&categoryId=14&productId=2517

I noted that A model is 5ms response time while B model is 6ms.
But B model has a Contrast Ratio of 60,000:1 while A model has one of 30,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio.

Maybe you can take a closer look?

Anyway, I think this is a pretty good deal so I got it.

i bought the B model at sears. i went and showed them the visions flyer and asked for a price match. the sales guy working was covering for somebody else that day and didn't know much about tv and allowed me the price match even though the visions model was the A model.

sears had it for 1299. after price match, taxes, and enviro levy, i paid 870. pretty good i think.

Good deal you had! Congrats!

But isn't the price at Sears $949? I checked it a couple of days ago on their website, it has been this price. How come it was $1299 in the store you went to?

Price at the downtown Vancouver FS was $799.99 this past Sat. for the LN40B530 (seems they lowered the price because of the Visions sale). The 37" was also being sold at $799. Folks looked confused because they didn't know about the Visions sale. :)

yeah, it seemed like sears lowered the price. it was definitely 1299 at one point. maybe the price in store hasn't caught up with the website?
