Wow! This is a first for sure although in no way I'll be dropping money here.
I have quite a few selection of nice NON-IRON shirts from BB, and they're all bought from the US.
You're best bet is the Niagara Falls Outlet, last time picked up a nice Slim-fit, Non Iron for $50 after their 20% offer.
BB Shirts are really sturdy for business env. Comes out from dryers like pressed.

Not everyone should be a Brooks Brother clientele. That's OK. The coupon is a deal for those who are. Besides, look where they put the store ... under a Bank.

You're right. I was also surprised most of their stores are at the airports in US (Like Charlotte/Philly etc)

Does anyone recall there used to be a vendor that used to come to the Sheraton Hotel downtown Toronto each year and custom tailored shirts/suit's. They would come from China....I haven't heard about a similar event this year. Anyone know what I'm talking about (I can't find the post from last year on RFD)?

I shop at Brooks Brother's all the time --- BUT IN THE US!!!
At the outlet malls, their excellent quality shirts are roughly $30-40 each plus 6% tax. There is absolutely no way that anyone should be buying the same shirt in Canada for $120 plus 13% taxes!!! They make good quality clothes, but why on earth would anyone buy them in Canada? Even at full price in their retail stores, most of their shirts in the US are 3 for $129 or $159 depending on the shirt. Roughly tripple the price here. Even when the dollar was weak, it was still a good deal in the US. Now that the dollar is strong, the difference is even more pronounced. This store is a perfect example that why we should not be shopping in Canada at all.
By the way, their shirts fit really well, are very comfortable, last forever, are a nice weight, are VERY easy to iron, etc... Well worth $30 or $40. If there was no other option, maybe even worth $120... but not when the same shirts are right accross the border for 1/3 less.

The only problem is you can go to buffalo and get all of this stuff for a fraction of the price.

I dont understand want Canadians get ripped off so bad on clothes.
Almost all clothes is much cheaper in the US.

Clothes, and cars, and food, and appliances, and toys, and bicycles, and furniture, and, and, and just about everything. Why people continue to shop in Canada is completely beyond me.

I think going down to Buffalo once and a while to buy it from the outlet is still a better option...
The shirts there are 99 for 3 for iron ones and 150 for 3 for non-iron ones. Last time there was an early-bird special, if you buy before 1PM it's an additional 10-20% off (can't remember exactly).
And yes, their shirts are awesome-sauce. Throw it in the dryer and comes out wearable with no wrinkles.

Let's see....because we live in Canada? We have a smaller market so things are more expensive. We also have higher taxes and higher costs of doing business because our society provides more for the average person than most U.S. states do. That increases the price of things.
People like a deal. Being an RFD member, I get that. I occasionally order goods from the U.S. that are substantially cheaper.
But if you have a running routine of buying virtually everything you need in the U.S., despite the fact that you live and work in Canada and Canada provides your source of income, I think you need to step back and look at the bigger picture.

This is not a US versus Canada thing, this a retailer specific thing.
Brooks Brothers in the US provides a tremendous value, and is usually with their sales no more than $50 per non-iron shirt.
Brooks Brothers Canada seems to be almost $85 for the exact same thing. Plus in NY state there is no tax on clothes, here we have the 13%, so the difference adds up.
Other retailers for example, Pottery Barn, and Best Buy are able to price Canadian goods as prices far closer to their US brethern. In those cases, the benefits of travelling to the US are limited.
In the case of Brooks Brothers, my favourite clothing store, despite waiting years for them to come to Toronto, I am sad to say that I doubt I will ever buy a single thing from the Toronto store, it is just too expensive.
