Riding quality, selection improvements, price cuts, Korean automaker a success story in down market
...
Sales in Canada are up a stunning 25 per cent during the first eight months of this year and are on pace to reach about 95,000 by the end of December for the first time. The company has posted record results for seven consecutive months and moved into sixth place in sales.

Sales for major players such as General Motors, Chrysler, Honda and Toyota are all down more than 20 per cent.
It marks one of the biggest performance gaps between one automaker and its rivals in Canadian auto industry.

This should serve as lesson in management to GM and Chrysler. How to overcome quality issues, consumer perception, poor brand image and produce an attractively priced desireable product to the consumer. That's how you sell cars.

No surprise there. Great product at reasonable price. Quality and reliability is much better now combined with great style. I can see that Honda and Toyota are worried.

It's because Canadians are so cheap. It's all based on price. No way anyone buys a Hyundai for quality. For example, take a Corolla and outfit it exactly the same as an Elantra and price them exactly the same and the Corolla will easily outsell the Elantra.

Im not surprised. Hyundai makes some very nice cars now at good prices. So does Kia. If I was going to buy a brand new car right now I would strongly consider a Kia or Hyundai.

Doesn't surprise me either, I bought a Genesis Coupe last month. No other car in its class has a 5 year bumper to bumper like mine does

Hyundai has moved up in the initial quality rankings of leading researchers J.D. Power and Associates.
Earlier this year, the company jumped to fourth place, behind luxury nameplates Lexus, Porsche and Cadillac.
Perhaps we want a good product at a good price, since these are the top 4 I wonder where the others are?
