Has anyone ever done this? Please recommend where to fix and repaint the whole car due to body rust in GTA or Markham area. My car is 9 years old and I would like to keep it for another 3 years. In another forum, someone suggested a good bodyshop Technik in Markham. Is this Technik Autoworks on 17 Harlech Ct, Thornhill? How about Cyber City Auto (8 Laidlaw Blvd) or Maaco (1 Laidlaw Blvd)?

Go to Velocity Autobody, ask for Barry. He's on Heritage Rd in Markham as well, don't know the exact address though.

The deciding factor would be how bad the rust is. the thing with rust is that by the time you see it, there has been substantial damage already occurring. You cannot do a partial job on rust. If there is rust, you need to cut it out and replace with good metal and if it becomes structural, you are toast. Unfortunately, you may not know this until you are already a couple grand into the job. I have seen several thousands of dollars of work be abandoned because the remaining work became several thousands more.
I don't know what type of car you have but without insulting you, if you need to spend more than 2 or 3000 dollars on rust repair, you will be throwing good money after bad.
Anyone who will give you a firm quote for a complete job will most likely be lying to you or will not do a complete job, just cover up.

Street Performance, Ask for Richard. Tell him Andrew with the TSX sent you.
He repainted my rear bumper and since my car is one of the hardest colors to match he matched it perfectly... cant even tell that it was ever painted.

Thanks every one for the replies. I'll certainly check those places and will be careful to get quotes for a complete job. My car is a minivan and has a long and noticeable rust on both rear wheel archers/liners (above the tires) and below the rear plate. There are also many small rust spots all over the the car (hood, window trims, and door panels). The under body is not rusted. It's really cosmetic appearance, but I can't stand to see those rusts for another 3 years :(

Let me guess...a Chrysler or Dodge. Those models all rusted at those places. The only fix is to cut out the rusted area, weld in new metal, smooth over (bondo) and repaint. Without doing this you'll see rust again in a few months.

It's mostly a waste of money as the other poster said. If you don't replace the metal, the rust will come out again in a year, won't last you 3 years. So, if you're wasting a few grands on a 9 yrs old van, might as well consider getting another "newer" used van.

Why?
If you are wanting just a quick paint, minor scratches, no major work and want it to look pretty good for a year or two, it is a perfect place to go. I have used them and have been very pleased with the results.

On a similar tangent
Does anyone know how much it would cost to repaint a few sections of a car (front and rear bumper, two rear panels and fixing some dents) would cost approximately?
Just wanted a ball park before going out for some quotes

I'm guessing at least $1000 because it costed me $500 just to paint an aftermarket front bumper and rear bumper from a reputable shop that does contract work for Honda. It may be cheaper if you find some shady shop.
