what do you mean a secondary alarm system? .... An alarm system installed with the primary one as a second one if the primary goes out?

To me, a backup alarm is just a small beeper that you position under your rear bumper and wire it into your backup lights.
Alerts people about to walk behind your vehicle that you are reversing and may not be able to see them.
Cost less than $10, and could be well worth it.

This is from a couple of years ago on another board:
Blazer Backup Alarm, model BH2000. Imported by Tiger Accessory Group, LLC, Lincolnshire, IL, 60069. Canadian Tire SKU 20-3918-2, and UPC Code 028845000856.
Its about 2" diameter round, and 1.5" deep. Comes with adhesive pad and screws.
Not listed on the CT site, maybe because of low price/small demand.
You might have to hunt for one in person on the shelves.
Most places that have auto accessories used to carry them.
