No doubt, the e-mail reminder for password isn't working either.

Derek,

Is there any way to get instant email notifcations of new threads for subscribed forums like before the change? I chose the daily update option now, but I think instant is better especailly for hot deals.

There is an instant e-mail notification option in your User CP.

There is an instant e-mail notification option in your User CP.

I can see an instant e-mail notification for subscribed threads in the CP.

However, I don not see instant e-mail notification for subsribed forums.

For example if I go to "Hot Deals" and click on "Forum Tools > Subscribe To This Form" then I am given three options:

1) No E-mail Notification
2) Daily Updates by e-mail
3) Weekly Updates by e-mail

It would be useful if there was an "Instant e-mail notification" in the "Subscribe To This Forum" options.

Thank you,
S.

Hi,

You need to go into your User CP and turn on instant notifications for subscriptions.

How did you get it to work?

Thanks,
S.

Hi,

You need to go into your User CP and turn on instant notifications for subscriptions.

I have it set to Instant Notifications for "Default Thread Subscription Mode" in the CP, but I cannot find an option for Instant Notifications for Subscribed Forums.

My post above dated, "May 3rd, 2004, 03:49 PM" explains this in greater detail.

Unless I am missing something? I have the tendency to go blind from time to time. :)

Thanks again,
S.

I'm not aware that this feature is in vBulletin. We have posts in all our forums relatively often so I'm not sure this feature would be of that much use to most people.

The old boards didn't email every post, just every new topic. I found it handy.

I disagree. Instant email is very useful especially in the Hot Deal forum. I want to know what deals there are immediately rather than have to wait for the night update. We all know how Staples' inventories go OOS easily...

Have we changed forum software then? or did upgrading lose the facility to receive email notification for new topics?

I was subscribed to the BST forums and got all new topics in my inbox.

I have dial-up and don't have time to got to RFD forums to reload the forum pages to see if there's anything new, I check my email much more often.

Maybe take a poll?

Thanks,
Linda

*Bump*

I keep missing out on Hot Deals, by the time I get the daily digest, it is too late and items are sold out. Is there any way that this can be implemented into the bulletin board system?

Thank you,
S.
